wtf Floyd did NOT shut him out. he beat him in a straight up skill vs skill match. canelo is a very very good fighter. NO ONE beats him at 154 from here on out. he fights Floyd again I would fully expect canelo to be victories. ONLY problem is he is heading towards GGG which is really bad
He appeals to key demographics in the US. He's white enough for the white guys, Mexican enough for the Mexicans, and Oscar De La Hoya spent a lot of time grooming this guy to be the next big thing. He's being very carefully matched and managed right now so it will take time for the luster to wear off if it ever does.

What is interesting, in many parts of the world, light skin is generally regarded as superior. The thinking being, if you are light skinned you do not have to labor in the hot sun each day to earn a living. That is a gross oversimplification but that is the gist of it. It is this way in Mexico, Spain, India, any place I can think of that has "color awareness."
