Hopkins in 2001 vs Martinez in 2010

Martinez can "Jones" him with speed.

 

I picked draw for the simple reason of not knowing how their styles would clash with one another.

 

B-Hop's got it. Sergio might trouble him early with the speed, but he's too predictable on offense with straight punches for B-Hop and would start getting countered with regularity later in the fight. Think B-Hop would get the stoppage late.

 

No middle weight below 5.11 is beating Hopkins. Oscar,Trinidad and Wright were all better fighters than Martinez and we know what happened to them.

Sergio would KO him, but Hopkins would cheat his way to the final bell. Hell, Jermaine Taylor kicked the **** out of Hopkins twice, and Sergio is a much better fighter than Jermaine. Ask Kelly....between beer burps.

Hopkins by UD, 8-4. He does have problems with speed, but he's also just a better fighter than Martinez. And very effective and experienced against southpaws.

 

Tito wasn't better than Martinez, and he was also a blown up Welterweight. Martinez may have came up from welter and jmw, but he is a legit middleweight.

 

Martinez quick movement and volume of punches will present a lot of problems for Hopkins .

Martinez might be able to steal a decision here .

If he approaches Hopkins as Calzaghe did for the full 12 rounds....he pulls it off!!!

If he approaches like those who recently fought Hopkins....scared crapless pussies who allow Hopkins to control the pace then Hopkins pulls out an ugly and boring decision!!!

Sergio is a great great fighter but Bernard is a Legend maybe cause he lost his pro début or maybe cause he came out of the facilities of Grateford where he spent 50 months and the mean streets of Brownsville, Philly, stabbed twice. I can only see names such as Monzon, Hagler, Sugar Ray Robinson, Marcel Cerdan, JakeLamotta, Tony Zale, Tony DeMarco, Carmen Basillio, Fullmer, Turpin, Graziano along with Bernard.
