Sergio wont be allowed to wear knee brace for Cotto match

Kinda loss some interest in this match now that I know Martinez needs a brace indicating he is not fully healed. He could still win in a toe to toe fight being bigger and faster.

 

Cause Sergio has knee issues and the brace helps it keep the knee in place. Which means without the brace, there is a higher chance that his knee will give out on him.

 

wtf some of you guys are acting like diva had his knee replaced,.
guys he had a very very common NON career threatening alc tear which had been replced and he should NOT need any kind of brace or sleeve IF he did 2 months of knee rehab and considering he has been training I would expect his knee to be the best its going to be for the foreseeable future.

As much as I like Martinez he really shouldn't be fighting if he isn't in a condition to do so. I can understand why one would prohibit a knee brace with metallic parts in a boxing ring, whereas a soft model should be feasible.

 

I hope Sergioe beats the ever loving **** out of KNEEguel JUST for this alone.

 

IDK why Team Martinez, Dibella are crying so much. If your knee is healthy, take the MRI test that the New York Athelic commision has asked for you to take.... and it shows it's healthy no brace.

For a Team that has talked as much garbage as Team Martinez has on Face Off, on 24/7 and more... he sure does complain a lot.

He said on 24/7 that no athelete in the world is in better shape or more powerful than he is at this moment. No brace...

Ah well. Some fighters have bad hands that might break or have had shoulder surgery. If your body isn't up to it, don't pick a fight with somebody even if that somebody is a cherry pick who is smaller than you.

 

I doubt cotto brought this to anyone's attention. I don't see the big deal anyhow. If you can't get in the ring n go 12 unassisted by medical devices/protectors/braces...you probably shouldn't be getting the ring. If he whines about not being able to wear it he loses the edge he had over cotto. Which was just mental trying to make cotto out to a whining diva. What is he if he complains about this?

 

Questions:

Did/Does Martinez have to pass a medical to fight?
Was he allowed to complete a medical with a mechanical knee brace on?


A mechanical device is not right but a sleeve/bandage is fine in my opinion. I can't see how anybody can complain. If it was his wrist would that be OK?
Movement and agility are all a part of boxing, if this mechanical device helps in any way then he should not be allowed to use it.

 

That fact that Martinez needs a knee brace in the first place is not a good sign. Cotto might actually have a chance. It's a shame that Cotto wouldn't let a gimp wear a brace to fight him. What a *****.

 

He also got dropped by Murray. Which is the fight where 1st looked beatable IMO. And got a gift decision at home .

 

The line has also been kept in line by heavy betting from Puerto Ricans and any casual fan who watched the Delvin Rodriguez fight, with no other knowledge of the sport.

 

Puerto Ricans don't bet with their hearts like that, they know boxing, betting, and will make their decisions off that knowledge, not because they just bet on the big name Puerto Rican.
