Cotto doesn't look that much physically smaller than Martinez now...

that Martinez has got down to weight...

looking at those pictures at the final press conference, physically they look similar sizes... fist size, head size etc. cotto even has broader shoulders, of course martinez is taller, but cotto's always been a short-stocky guy, he's never had height/reach advantage, meaning he knows how to fight 'small'....

in the original press tour, martinez just looked far bigger. i guess that's because he must have been around 190lbs....

Did you look at Cotto's neck, head size and fist size?? They look petite compared to Sxy Sergio.

Kneegal Cotto kneels again unless Sxy Sergio is really shot and old.

    i expect sergio to win....

but i don't think 'size' will be the determining factor.

As Sergio has lost weight, they are now looking similar but once fight night comes, Segio will be over 170's easy.

Skeletally Martinez is the bigger man. Cotto may be more muscular but he is just a bulked up WW. So, Maritinez should beat Cotto, regardless of weight. They both are very capable fighters. In large measure, it is why Margarito did so well against Cotto (minus the loaded gloves). Bigger frame. Bigger man.

I think Cotto will put up a good show for the first 4 rounds until Martinez's strength takes over.

Should be a good fight or Cotto will give it his all whilst it lasts, but if Martinez is 75% fit he should get Cotto out of there between 6-8 rounds.

Na size don't have nothin to do with it Margarito was a tough sob that kept coming forward and could take alot of punishment. Sergio is the bigger, faster fighter here, and his toughness proven in the Williams and Chavez Jr fights, but hasn't really taken a sustained beating since losing to Margarito yrs ago. Jab will be the key for Cotto to win and not get caught by Sergios left. Cotto doesn't fight smart it will be over quick. Sergio knows he needs a ko or tko to win.

it's more because of his style...

margarito and pacquiao both gave cotto the beatings of his life because they were high volume punchers.... cotto won't struggle as badly with someone with lower punch volume....

Baloney. Margarito is almost a carbon copy of Martinez, even an inch taller with the same reach, 73". This is a big deal for Cotto. Cotto is 5'7" with a 67" reach. Margarito was a freak in the sense that he was able to drop all that weight and rehydrate without it impacting his abilities. Margarito was a big man for his weight division, and it was a big factor in how he pushed Cotto (and Martinez) around the ring. Of course, the loaded gloves didn't hurt either.

I see Cotto outboxing Sergio early on, possibly even winning the first 4 rounds. And then I expect Sergio to ditch the plan of trying to box and walking Cotto down. As good as Cotto is as a boxer, he has always been somewhat easy to hit. I see Sergio koing Cotto before the 10th.

cotto will probably come into the fight in great shape, enough to make it a competitive match for awhile. martinez will win, too fast, too strong, too smart.
