Does anybody give Geale any shot to beat GGG?

It was the other way around Barker got droppedgot up and won. I give Geale a chance but Im an Aussie and patriotic. Hopefully he can avoid GGG's power shots and get a UD with his workrate and volume punching. Though it is a massive task and he's up against it.

 

He has a shot if he can smother GGG, have a high work rate and avoid getting tagged too much. A tall order considering the type of fighter he is, but not possible. They fought in the amateurs.

The thing that makes fighting GGG so blasted hard for almost anyone is his jab. Its not talked about as much, everyone wants to salivate over the power shots but I consider GGG's true strength to be his jab.

Having power is great. But the reason I rate GGG so highly is mostly because of his footwork and jab. Its going to be hard for Geale to outwork someone who can keep a glove in his face all night.

If Geale wants to win, he needs to figure out a way to deal with that jab that doesnt involve opening himself to body shots. Maybe a Soliman style attack, and trying to get inside the jab and smother and work inside.

 

That's interesting....any idea of the result?

I hope for a Geale win, it will be a tall order. GGG is largely reputation and record....he hasn't been in there with really A grade guys.

My patriotism may be getting in the way but i can't help but thing Geale has a shot!

I know GGG is a whole new ball game when it comes to power, but I can't think of a time that Geale has been in trouble in a fight? Hopefully he can find a way to last the first 6 and then up the tempo and go to the body!!

 

Combination of being up against a clearly better fighter, not much to trouble him with and a bad style matchup.

I think the 8 to 1 odds aren't even wide enough.

Golovkin and Geale once met in amateurs in 2001, Golovkin won easily on points 15-3.

 

Quite a Few Fighters had never been TKOd before they met Golovkin....Geale is another who could be part of that statistic.!!!!

 

Watch Hatton V Tzsyu and hope that GGG is a similar fighter and wants time and space to get his shots off.

Really? If Geale tries to smother GGG he is only going to be playing into GGG's hands. If Geale actually tries this I think he gets KO'd quickly.

As I recall, and I must admit I don't have much recall on Geale, he is very active but not very powerful. For this reason, I just can't see Geale giving GGG any kind of serious resistance.

What surprises me the most is to hear GGG outpointed Geale in the amateurs 15-3. Geale's work rate is the only chance he has, so if GGG outpointed him in the amateurs, on top of the fact that he is much more powerful than Geale now in the pros, it could be a short night.

 

GGG will make short work of Geale. The kid is always throwing and has a nice output but I don't see this going past 7 rds.

GGG has yet to find himself in trouble and I just don't see this kid doing anything special:-(
