If mayweather went up to 160 and beat ggg. Well it wouldnt be good enough for yous. Yous would then say ggg has never beaten anyone. I think the majority of boxing fans are quite stupid. Weight divisions are there for a reason. If there was no need, then it would just be light, middle and heavyweight. But its not.

 

Weight divisions , Floyd would be a decent sized Welter in any era. But now fighters have 24 hours to rehydrate and it is not uncommon for fighters to weigh 160 - 165 lbs, while Floyd weighs 150 lbs making him fairly small ( in terms of weight,) for the division.

Its a weighing scales, calibration is important when you want to get things down to the ounce. Your garden variety weighing scales, (which this wasn't, it was digital), gets weights basically correct.

Or do you think WWE plotted a whole storyline to make a guy who really weighed 165 , weigh 159, to annoy internet boxing trolls?
