Technique probably has a lot to do with what Roach is referring to. Like how small guys can generate massive numbers on those punching machines, when big guys cannot. It's not that the little guys are stronger, but through the rules of physics they did everything correctly to generate the higher punching power. Also you can consider, was Junior throwing arm punches mostly? I'm sure there is a big difference if he was throwing properly, feet set and power coming through the legs.
ye cotto is a better puncher even if hes not a bigger puncher. hes more likely to land then jcc jr. hes a far better fighter. like duran at middleweight, he wasnt a massive puncher, but still a decent puncher with better skills, than most.

He's his trainer, what do you expect him to say?. Besides, Cotto's chin isn't that bad, yes he does get stung/hurt but is very resilient and keeps fighting back even when hurt.
Most of Sergio's knockdowns were flash or balance issues, not actually hurt by any of them. Roach is not stupid. The shot Chavez hit him with would have KO'd most fighters, Sergio got back up, took Williams very underrated power flush many times, took Pavlik's shots. I'm pretty he can take Cotto's power who hasn't KO'd one A side fighter. Sergio has a great chin but has awkward balance. He was not KO'd by Margarito, Cortez stepped in while Sergio was bobbing and weaving on the ropes trying to avoid Tony's shots. Sergio should be considered undefeated for the past 14 years. Cotto has been beaten 4 times in the last 6 years twice by stoppage.

A couple of things trainers should've said but didn't... We have a slight punchers chance, but little else. Davids going to try to stay safe and hope Klitschko gets frustrated and runs imto something. If not, sh!t, at least we get paid- Adam Booth I hope Sergio hurts himself or something.
