Not a big, but i could imagine GGG & Sanchez looking past Geale, so there is a little chance that Geale might upset the odds.
At this point the best name GGG has on his resume is Curtis Stevens, so of course Geale being roughtly on the same level as Stevens has a chance against GGG. GGG's problem is, he hasn't actually fought anybody so it's would be Ultra stupid to elevate his true status based on emotion and heresay. GGG is definitely no "Consummate professional" or at this stage of career he'd have the resume and wins to prove it. Right now GGG is exactly where Lucien Bute was right before his truth revealing fight with Froch.
you'd have to go up to the heavyweight division before i'd actually bet real money on anyone beating triple G. whenever in the next few years one of you bet against him please post a pic of the ticket. i'd love to see it. geale will be annihilated. then chavez, froch or martinez.
Yup....he may get up a couple times, but IMO, by rd 7 his heart will be broken and he'll drop his guard and get stopped. Hopefully his corner follows the plan of Stevens and stops him from getting seriously injured.:think
Now I am worried. GGG beat him convincingly in the amateurs....ok I'll check his record. 345-5 That is insane. He has way more boxing experience than I would have thought.
Stevens corner were idiots. they kept admonishing him for going to the ropes but he had to try to cover up and bide time to collect himself cause he was getting hurt. badly hurt. and it was over after the 6th but they sent him out for 2 more rounds of a beating. Adama figured out the correct plan. take a knee or spit out your mouthpiece. there's nowhere to hide.
Professionally, GGG hasn't fought anyone in the top tier of any division. Amateur crap counts for crap. If he were so good an amateur, he wouldn't have ducked good professional competition for all these years.
he has a chance if he gets his tactics right and keeps a cool head. moving round the ring on the back foot is a bad idea, GGG will just walk him down and pressure him until the inevitable happens. what Geale needs to do is stay in the centre of the ring and use in and out movements, get his shots off, then circle. repeat. that's all he needs to do, but will he allow himself? if he can't keep his head, forget about it. but if he follows that plan, then he could look to push GGG onto the back foot later when he's taken the sting out of him. Golovkin doesn't do well when pushed back. Golovkin works best when he gets momentum going on the front foot. you've got to stop that from happening. stifle his movement in centre ring by working angles without moving too much and allowing that momentum. Geale has to fight the perfect fight and be smart. Golovkin can afford to make some mistakes in there without being punished too much. so this will be purely down to tactics for Geale. but saying that, i expect Geale to lose his head around the 4th or 5th round and start getting broken down with the ending coming around the 8th in a surprisingly good fight.
