Well I think it has a lot do with the Showtime contract, the fact that Floyd is the P4P #1 and everyone wants to be #1.

That's actually a better reason though than the one Floyd used when asked, about how Arum makes a percentage of Pacquiao's paydays. Boxing promoters make money, not as much as the fighters, but it's an occupation.

Why is Arum a snake for being a successful promoter? If he said Floyd "would never be a big draw", then that's a legit reason. But I don't think I've heard Floyd use that reason when talking about Arum. How is Al Haymon any more or less of a snake than Arum?

 

People have nothing but good words for Al Haymon so far, they even thank him first before god

I've not once heard even one fighter say anything negative about Haymon as they do about Arum, King, and Goosen.

i hate to say it...but it seems like pure racism to me. the hate he gets. show me one single fighter who has a negative thing to say about the man? he's been involved for a while. he ain't new to boxing.

maybe some racists hate Haymon 'cos he's black, maybe some racists hate Arum 'cos he's white and/or a Jew. That's what racists do.

I think racism is stupid. I also think almost every boxing promoter is a cheat and a swindler, and the boxing business is shady. Many of them are plain criminals. Historically - and to this day - boxing has attracted some very crooked characters. Don't be surprised.

 

for a guy who is newer to boxing than most....haymon gets plenty of hate from ppl on these boards. arum is the one that has been indicted in the past for bribery...not haymon.
