Amateurs - Who Beat Who?

    Basically just a thread about any knowledge people have about fighters who have now turned pro but fought against other known fighters as amateurs (past and present)... who won, what happened, how do you think it would turn out now etc?

    I know the amateurs is a different ball game to the pro's but thought this would be interesting.

    To start us off;

    Kal Yafai beat Paul Butler by 20 odd points - I would actually go with Butler should they meet again down the line.

    John Lewis Dickinson beat James Degale, Travis beat Groves twice (the only Englishman to ever beat Groves as an amateur)... not sure if he stopped him twice but I know he definitely stopped him once.

    Froch lost by a 4th round TKO to Manfredo Jr, don't know exactly what happened there anyone else know?

    David Price beating Fury, differing accounts about how Price went down. Some say Fury dropped him, others say it was a slip and Fury hit him as he was falling.

    Tony Bellew knocked John Lewis Dickinson clean out, can be found on YouTube.

    Very well known that Groves won a decision against Degale then went on to win back to back ABA titles.

    Ricky Hatton getting stopped by Jurgen Brahmer

    2010 Ryan Farrag won a close decision against Luke Campbell, but Campbell was coming off the back of a layoff from hand surgery.

    Ricky Hatton stopped Jamie Moore, sure it was inside 1 round.

    Buglioni beat Hosea Burton in the GB box offs.

    Interesting stuff. One amateur career Im interested in is David Price. I saw him in the Olympics,but understand he fought Pulev and Stiverne,obviously among others,in the amateurs. Anybody,possibly from Liverpool,know anything?

    Michael maguire has boxed Campbell once in the abas and was massive favourite and Campbell schooled him and won this was in Sheffield in the quarters

    They have boxed 3 times 1st fight in 2008 I think nevin won 11-2 I think secilond fight world Campbell won on countback and obviously the olympic final Campbell won

    Didn't Amir Khan beat Victor Ortiz?

    Anyone remember Lee Siner? Apparently beat Macklin and a bunch of others. Double ABA Champ, too.

    I know they're not British but matthysse and maidana fought four times, with Maidana winning 3, always thought that was an interesting one.

    I think Arnie Farnell boxed Jamie Moore in both their debut as amatuers, amazing if true what they both went on to achieve

    Hes not a pro but i saw a little know kid Sid Smith from the tiny Hailsham ABC stopped Kid Galahad (Barry Awad).

    Darren Sutherland RIP beat Degale four times in the ams. Furys genuine knockdown of Price is on youtube for all to see.
