i booked the balmoral hotel too just there...its free to cancel before 4th sept....take a pick of either of them then
No mate, would of fell for it too if I wasn't from Belfast. Lot of talk it will be in the Balmoral grounds, that's a huge area but would mean temporary stands etc.
That what worries me. With seating brought in by truck, you can't be sure of the quality of your seat. Unlike in the Odessy where there is a fixed seating layout that you can see online pretty much exactly how good the seat you are paying for is. Has any of ye belfast lads phoned the Balmoral showgrounds to enquire if they are in fact the venue? Surely the staff must know? It's only a local phone call after all.....
I'd presume staff wouldnt know until a deal is done and then I'd imagine staff wouldnt be told as a courtesy to the promoter until it was officially announced.....or would be told very close to official announcment or something
There is eff all confidentiality in this country Doug, so I'd say people do know, or will know soon. Followed your lead and booked Balmoral Hotel though...:good
No one talking about Andy Lees fight on Sergio v cotto card. This could be a make or break fight for Andy. He badly needs a really good, convincing win. Another poor performance, win or lose, and it will be hard to see much point in him continuing. As I say, for such a vital fight for Andy there is a surprising lack of interest, given that nothing less than Andys boxing career is more or less at stake....
I watched some youtube today of jackson fights, and he looks a bit limited so maybe Andy should win this:bbb
Hope so Marty. But if I was Jamaican and I looked up Andys last few scuffles I'd be hopeful MY guy would win too....
I don't know how is Andy's mind after the beating Fatboy gave him... but it seems he was lucky to get a MD against a journeyman last April. Both Jackson brothers are limited but they have bricks in both hands... let's watch how Andy's chin behaves.
I actually think Lee has a great chin (never been on the canvas) but his conditioning and mental focus is what worries me. Sometimes its like he switches off. If what Booth is saying is true about Lee eating popcorn in the cinema before the Hortha fight then maybe Booth can make a difference. My question is this though - how did anyone in Lee's team let him get away with eating cheeseburgers etc and really unhealthy snacks in the days leading up to his fights. Manny was a great coach but I genuinely believe he never paid attention to conditioing and health etc. Still pretty poor from Booth to admit that happened. Is Lee mad or something - is he like the Paul mcGrath of boxing I mean everybody should know that type of habbit is counderproductive to all the training. Surely Lee knows he can't be doing that before a fight. Funnily enough I see a promo of GGG's fight in March in Monaco. In one of the vieos he was eating a bloody Milka bar. Sometimes I think these guys need a security guard to stop them from going to the fridge etc
great show at the holiday inn with all the irish boxers winning...luke keeler on good form as always... dont no wat 2 make of eamonn magee yet his opponent was shite:good
Both Andy Lee and his opponent JJjr look emaciated at weigh in for their fight tonight, JJ jr looks far too thin - even thinner than Andy. No telling how this one will go. There is rumour that JJ jr knocked out Gabriel Campillo in sparring. Presumeably that is Campillo the Spanish light-heavy. A good Andy Lee clone - a 6'2" southpaw. If thats true then JJ jr has power alright. Could be bad news for Andy.
the fact is andy cuming in close 2 the super middleweight limit cum fight time... tis guy jackson has beaten nobody and his power is over rated.. i could c andy knocking him out:good
