Yes I expect Andy to have a size advantage in the ring. Never seen JJ jr so I cant comment on his level. He does not look strong based on weight-in photo, but he is supposed to hit hard. More importantly -Fra what news of the venue for Carl-Kiko II?? Come on, ye Belfast lads must have ye're ears to the ground, ye must be hearing something....Balmoral??
sorry m8 im a country boy from castlewellan.... so aint in the loop:twisted:... cant wait til the nite 2 c if andy can a force at tis weight:good
It might be worth the cost of a local phone call to ring Balmoral and see if they have been approached about being the venue. I'm gambling it's there, booked local hotel. Andy really needs to show up in style tonight. Another uninspiring scuffle and we may as well give up on him at this stage.... :thumbsup
Thanks for that. Quigs looks very fit tough and determined for such a young guy. Lots of potential. He needs to get his tactics right though. He got far too involved with a much physically stronger man and he can't be doing that. He needs to mature a bit physically yet, but he is a real live wire alright!
He was only 20 then. He's definitely matured since then. I remember seeing this a couple of years ago and I had never heard of him then but he looked the part. And against, as you said, a physically stronger man.
Steady on there lads about Andy Lee.. The finish was highlight-reel stuff alright. But how often can he count on that happening? His opponent was very stiff and limited, inexperienced etc. Despite his limitations, JJ had Andy looking very disorganised. Andy was all over the place, and only for the fact that JJ was so naieve we would be looking at a loss for Andy. People will only remember the finish, but Andy was not doing well in that fight.
No Fra, Andy needs to call it a day for his own good. He just isnt good enough. All the old shortcomings were in evidence again last night - Poor guard, head up in the air, stiff as a board, getting bullied, getting caught square, getting hit far too often with silly punches etc etc etc. I like Andy a lot - and this isnt tennis or golf he is playing. You cant 'play' pro boxing. :thumbsup
Awful...and whats all this "again" business paleface? I wasnt aware Andy had been a world champ before?? (ok I know you probably mean "Did he again look like he might have a world title in him") Well no he didnt. He looked like a guy that is going to get hurt badly. He looked like he needs to retire. Today.
