Would be great but his options would be crazy if he wins or not.

If he wins then there could be a rematch (Which i expect this fight to be a war so the 2nd one could be bad ass) the Canelo fight is a superfight for sure and probably next. Possibly GGG, Mayweather, Kid Chocalte, lists goes on and on

Agree there might be too many big paydays out there for him to turn down but just don't want to see him taking a physical pounding against a guy like GGG.

Roach says they want Mayweather if they win.

Which is why I am really hoping Sergios knee holds up, and Cotto loses. If he planned to defend MW crown against actual 160lbers or even a Canelo moving up in weight then I wouldnt mind Cotto getting the W even if it was from Martinez knee blowing out. (If it goes out vs Cotto, it would go out vs any 160 guy - at least Martinez went out with a payday)

Winning it off a blown knee, then going to 154.5 to hand it to a Welterweight is a farce and a half though. Just shows how nonexistent the actual sport aspect is in boxing these days, much to its detriment. Completely ignoring the sport aspect in favor of the business aspect is only harmful to the long term health of both sport and business aspects of boxing.

Im sorry bro but i dont agree that the only way Cotto can win is because Martinez has a blown knee. It cant be because this is the most skilled fight Martinez has ever faced? hardest body puncher hes ever faced? one of the fastest, Cotto with younger legs, better trainer in Roach...None of those factors?? SO Cotto's only shot is if Martinez's kneww is no good...not because of a punch?? NOT BUYING IT BRO!!

And who says Cotto cant win a rematch with a new trainer and a higer weight?? and if somehow Mayweather does win he wont defend so it'll go to the next 2 ranked fighters who fight which would be GGG anyways so it all works out. :deal

Do you really think Cotto punches harder than Pavlik or Chavez?

I dont think he hits as hard as any of the guys at 160 Martinez has fought to be honest. Martinez on the other hand hits hard enough to KO big natural 160lb guys.

I think he punches harder then Macklin and Murray. U can say both were off balance or whatever but he still went down and thats all that counts.

Yes its true Martinez hits hard enough to drop big 160lbs'ers. Cotto is gonna have to eat some also. dont get me wrong, im not saying this is a cakewalk at all. I expect a blood bath and even both fighters going down. Im thinking 8th 9th round though that body shots will take a toll and Martinez will not want anymore. will get brave, keep hs hands down like he always does and then its night night. Cotto can finish unlike any other fighter hes faced

Gonna be a great fight. I think Cotto has more than a good shot at winning this if he doesn't gas and doesnt eat too many early punches.
