Would Floyd Mayweather be brave enough to move up and fight a middleweight champion?

I would like to get your views on Mayweather vs Marquez. Do you think that fight was unfair due to weight issues?

 

Floyd could make it. He didnt want to. That was pretty clear. As far as moving up, I guess you would be ok with him fighting the MW champ in Cotto then, right?

 

He will move up to fight at MW. Doesn't have to come in at 160 just like Cotto didn't come in at 159lbs. He will do it because its Cotto, a guy he already beat. When it was Martinez doing the offering for a CW, Floyd ran. Or if it were GGG he wouldn't go up either.

 

He had the chance to do it before but he didn't have the balls to do it. Now that Cotto won and knows he can beat him, for sure he would do it. If I'm Cotto, I'd never give a title shot to Floyd because of that. At least Cotto risked something last night and it paid a LOT!

 

you are just being a hater now. Why would that Cotto from last night win? You thought Sergio looked that great? Why is Floyd a prima donna for fighting in LV but Cotto is not for fighting in NY on the PR parade? Floyd's hometown is Michigan. Everyone fights in Vegas. Tell me, does Floyd have even a tenth of the fans at his fight in Vegas that Cotto does in NY? Thats like fighting Canelo in Mexico. Its one of the biggest advantages in all of boxing right now.

You are just hating just to hate. The whole buildup to this fight was about people thinking Cotto was being a prima donna to Sergio. Cotto responded by saying he understood that he was the B side against Floyd & Pac but the A side in this fight. Guess what? He's back to the B side and doesnt get to call the shots. Floyd is not fighting him in NY, mostly due to taxes. The funny thing is that its a lose lose situation because even though you say Cotto wins, others say that if he fights Cotto then its the ultimate chrerry pick

risked what? That stuff is so overrated. Cotto started 2 divisons over Floyd and use to come into the ring at 157 pounds even when fighting at 140. Its not the same as Floyd at all. Cotto also has a fair amount of losses which means you have nothing to lose and have to take fights like this if you want to be mentioned as the best again

Nothing to lose? Let's be honest, if he didn't won that fight, he would probably be retiring. That is huge IMO. You talk like a guy who approve the way is securing his 0 on his record. He is a great fighter, I take nothing from him but he is clearly cherrypicking. The way he acted with Maidana (gloves) is disgusting.

 

so what if Cotto retires. He wasnt even favored to win the fight. He lost to Trout not too long ago and has only beaten Rodriguez since. He had to take a fight like this or Canelo. Its like Margarito being the most feared man on teh planet but when he got on top, he wanted no part of avenging his loss to Williams. Its different when you are in that position. I dont think Floyd is a cherry picker. I think he is a small guy who may not feel super comfortable fighting in his 6th division when in his very last fight he was 148 pounds on fight night. At this point people just want to see him lose. The fact is the only fight people can clearly rip him for not taking is Pac. There is no excuse for that and that goes for both guys. You have to make that fight happen. Other then that, nothing was a definite fight that had to be made, especially when a guy is giving up 17 plus pounds routinely
