Why is Wladimir Klitschko reluctant to fight Kubrat Pulev?

Wladimir was eager to fight the limited Alexander Leapai.

But Kubrat Pulev is much better, and will give Wladimir a tough fight. Pulev has earned his title shot more than many others like Mormeck and Wach.

I've noticed a side to Wladimir that I don't like lately. He thought giving Pulev 25% of the purse bid was too much, and got it lowered to 20%. But he's rich, so why do that? :-(

I used to believe Wladimir is the kind of boxer who takes on all comers and wants to fight the best out there.

Wladimir wants Vitali's belt. A fight against Stiverne or Wilder is easier than Pulev, who's actually the one and only HW boxer who is able to beat Wlad and giving him a tough fight.

Wlad needs to fight a livewire soon.

These pointless mandatory fights are a waste of everybody's time.

Couldn't he just fight Pulev now and then fight the winner Wilder vs Stiverne after?

I think that fight will happen next. But not sure if he can beat Pulev. Pulev is a real boxer actually, he comes to win and he has skills. One of the best jabs in boxing history. It's just, that Wlad would probably feel more comfortable fighting Pulev after getting Vitali's belt.

How did he manage getting Pulev Down to 20 % purse? As a mandatory Pulev is automatically guaranteed 25 %.
    Lousy negotiations by pulevs managers..

The IBF approved it being dropped from 25% to 20%.

Why did they do that? It has been the normal way of doing Things since early age..

Pulev is a mandatory and probably the next Wlad opponent.

Basically, everyone tries to get out of Pulev except Thompson because they have seen he's good but offers little reward. Thompson has been a bit needy to capitalize on his late stage success with one foot out of the game and has been willing to go anywhere for anyone. He's a special case. I think Wlad kills him and Pulev matches up for crap with Wlad and will get dominated and I doubt Wlad's worried about him. He wants to get that fourth title. That's all. Pulev's a good fighter. Stiverne is good but not as good. They both probably match up badly with Klitschko. I don't think there's a single guy out there right now that worries Wladimir. If Wilder takes some bombs off of Stiverne okay and still comes through with his 100% ratio looking good that might be a guy Wlad has to think of as more than a hopeless ex sparring partner but until something like that, he's not got anybody to avoid from a safety standpoint. There's nobody good enough who matches up well enough with him to be a worry.

Wlad's at a point where pretty much everyone's the same to him as far as risks and he's only looking at the reward part. Which I don't blame him for. He paid his dues. He's taking advantage of those dues paid now. The long time elites get that privilege. If he can't get Stiverne, he'll have no problem facing Pulev. You'll see that fight made. Anyone who thinks Wlad would duck a guy like Pulev because he's a risk but fight a guy like Povetkin or Haye is backward. Those were the guys that presented the most risk to him and you saw what happened there. Yes Pulev deserves a shot and did everything the right way but Wlad earned all the cards he holds too. If he prioritizes trying to get the WBC belt over Pulev that's his prerogative. For me I'd like to see a fully unified champion as much or more than I'd like to see Pulev get the shot he earned next. With the bonus of seeing King immediately lose his paper champion even though I like Stiverne, that would be a bonus.

Why is it little reward?. Wlad would earn a lot of credit beating Pulev and it would be a undefeated NO.1 contender on his record who nobody wanted to fight.

I would say high risk and high reward.

He who dares wins but Wlad clearly isn't up for the challenge.

Uh..... not a Wlad fan but aren't they having a purse bid in the next few weeks?

Wlad isn't afraid of any man.

Wlad will easily knock Pulev out. Pulev has nothing for Wladimir.

Did Leapai get 25% because he earned over a million so I guess he did.

Wlad done that to try get team Pulev to reject. This is the way Wlad and Bounty have always been.
