Wladimir, Ottke, Bute, Chris John, Johnny Nelson, Stieglitz/Abraham, ...... but who fathered this act that was not common in the Ray Robinson, Ali or Duran era.

Wladimir fighting the Lepai's and Moremeks, and Sasha under his own rules of boxing, the hugging rules. In his own backyard soon he will have no choice but to fight Striverne, Fury, Pulev so now he is easing his hostage take.

Ward didn't hold the belt hostage long enough but I can see a potential belt hostage taker when I see Ward as he has made the right moves. He doesn't use his passport and has his personal ref/judges aswell as nonsense demands like weight draining opponents.

Hopkins held the IBF title but he unified it twice within 4-5 years.

Don King with the WBC heavyweight title after it was stripped from Lewis. The evidence is In the fact we got the most unmemorable of trilogies with Holyfield and Ruiz.

Wladimir is holding the belt hostage?. What's more funny is that you mentioned Abraham, who never held the belt hostage anyway, and didn't mention Sturm. :rofl Welcome ******, you will fit real well among the inbred.

John L. Sullivan who refused to fight Peter Jackson. If not him then maybe Jim Jeffries who wouldn't fight the black contenders for his belt like Jack Johnson, Sam Langford, Sam Mcvea, or Joe Jeanette. Or maybe Jack Johnson who refused to fight the same black contenders for his title. Or Jack Dempsey who wouldn't fight Harry Wills.
