I'm sure that was by design as Team Cotto knew that Martinez likes to move allot

Taking nothing away from Cotto, but there was no fight last night. One guy was primed and ready, the other guy should not have been in the ring.

Don't be too hard on yourself, with two good legs under him Martinez would've beaten Cotto into submission.

Cotto did a great job. I think his teaming up with roach was an excellent choice. Roach Knows his old style and what had to be done to get him back to being the best id the best- or on the road to being that.

I would love to see a 2nd Floyd Cotto fight in due course for all the marbles.....Cotto wont get any credit for that win either, as they will say Floyd was shot....hate to say it but if Maidana can get that close to beating Floyd, then Floyd is getting old in that ring suddenly. :?

Props to Cotto for his performance. I too thought a faded Sergio would still be too much for Cotto at that weight. And, yes, while I think the knee was a factor, that doesn't change that Cotto did exactly what you are supposed to do to a lesser/weakened opponent: completely dominate.

He impressed me too. I honestly said that this fight won't go past round 5 after the first round.

Props to martinez, too. He was trying hard to not make excuses and mention the knee problems in the post fight interview. Then his trainer came in and ruined it.

Ironically, many people said Cotto was shot after Mayweather beat him 2 years ago. Anyway, Miguel would get a ton of credit if he were to beat Mayweather even though Mayweather would be 38 and well out of his natural weight class. I personally thought Mayweather still looked sharp against Maidana. Maidana was dirtly, relentless, and threw a ton of punches. However, I didn't see him do much in terms of landing clean shots. Mayweather, on the other hand, was very accurate, never seemed winded, and seemed composed throughout the fight.

I can't give Cotto too much credit. I'm sorry. I like Cotto and he fought well, not taking anything away from him, he probably would've won with a healthy Martinez seeing how well he fought. But Martinez is done. He reinjured his knee in his last two fights and had surgery prior to this. Anyone who has injured a knee or ankle knows you have little to no movement. I know people who have had surgery and years later still experience pain or have much less mobility. Anyone who says Martinez was healthy or 100% is lying to themselves. I don't care what Martinez and his camp said, he was limping in round 1. I the think the first knockdown was legit and that's when he reinjured his knee. The fight was garbage in my opinion because it wasn't a level playing field.

    LOL.

I estimate that 80% of ESB member's fight predictions are always wrong.
At least you are always in the majority.
