The most feared is Golovkin lol if Cotto is the legit MW champ, defend the title.

If Golovkin beat Martinez in that condition, I wouldn't give him credit either.

What you don't understand is we are not discrediting Cotto, just not giving him more credit than he deserves.

Let me get this right. Cotto nearly separated Martinez's head from his spine, at least the connection and he fought off balance the whole fight. It just "looks" too weird for you to accept that it was a valid fight?? :huh

The first hook, turned Martinez into a a guy running on stilts. Accident or not?

I've stated before, that first knockdown was legit. I'm not saying Cotto would've lost had Martinez been healthy. I'm saying I can't give Cotto too much credit because fact is, regardless of the cause, Martinez injured his knee in the first round. If his knee was healthy, he wouldn't need a knee brace. If Martinez was healthy, he'd be able to evade and sit down on his punches. Whether the surgery was bothering him physically or mentally, he was not 100%. There is no accident, his knee was shot. Your legs are EVERYTHING in a boxing match.

Injuries happen, ageing happens it's part of boxing. We don't know how healthy or prime each guy was and we don't know who would have won in different circumstances. Stop making excuses and get over it people.

Unfortunately the fact is an MRI revealed his knee was fine, just as Martinez has said himself repeatedly, lol. "bothering him mentally"...BTW... he injured his knee nearly two years ago... you do realize that right?

Seems to me you have big opinions and that you are inflexible. If that first knockdown was legit, couldn't it have drastically changed Martinez's fight? His team feels that it really ****ed him up and he was on auto pilot the next few rounds.

That's just part of boxing. Lennox Lewis' punches injured Vitali Klitschko's face. Danny Garcia closed up Matthysse's eye etc. They won fair and square within the rules, it is what it is.

Sergio could hardly bend his legs to get into the ring under the ropes, the guy could not bend his body at all, his movement was 90% gone. He was just a punching bag on wobbly knees.

You're telling me cotto hits harder than 6'2 pavlik who is near 190 on fight night? Just LOL!

I know it is a shocking revelation to many out there, but...

    ALL HUMAN BEINGS AGE!

And, sometimes, the upset does happen in boxing. No need to sound bitter about being wrong. Most of us were in this case...

its not his age its his knees, they are gone. A boxer who's whole game is movement.......tries to fight with 0 movement. A lot of low level fighters would have iced martinez that night.

He injured his leg in his previous two fights. YOU COULD SEE HIM LIMPING. Cotto didn't make him limp. I'm not blaming Cotto, it's not his fault. Forget Martinez's age, I think his age was fine. His leg was not. He needed a leg brace ffs. Cotto fought well, Martinez was on a shot leg.

I noticed this also. It's amazing he actually wasn't brought into the ring on a stretcher as well as being brought out on one.

    Somebody answer this:

Was Martinez's leg 100%? Was it as healthy as it was two years ago prior to his first injury?
