Tito Trinidad Miguel cotto question?

Right, you never hear him say this win is for P.R. or things like that, like Tito would all the time. I'm not even sure he wore the flag on his trunks last night, he's probably just not a sociable guy like Tito is, nothing wrong with it, but not very P.R. like. which I guess is why he tends to separate himself from the P.R. boxing fans.

 

They love Juan Manuel Lopez more than cotto, i hear this a lot too.

 

He used to wear the flag all the time, maybe it's just his way of saying FU back to them ever since they turned on him, strange deal.

 

This. Different personalities. Felix was all about Puerto Rico and his fans. He was approachable. Miguel Cotto is all about boxing, but he only fights for Miguel Cotto(third person). And that's fine. When it comes to boxing in our countries, people will support with who they feel represents their country best.
Fernando vs Oscar- Mexicans felt Vargas represented the Mexican sentiment better.
Paquiao vs Donair- same thing
Puertorican boxing fans will always appreciate Cotto for the fighter he is.
Puerto Rican boxing fans and non-boxing fans will always love Tito for the person he was in and outside the ring.

 

I think it's a little sad how Miguel Cotto is not very much appreciated by his countrymen.
It's obvious Cotto is more of an introvert, and it's easy to imagine how awkward it must be for him interacting with fans in the real world. I don't really know what happened there between him and P.R. fans, but I guess a fighter as good as him should be appreciated more by his local fans while he is still active.

 

Actually Cotto did it to himself in a way. I heard plenty times that he was a ***** to people and fans. A little stuck up. Not saying he should always be smiling and kissing babies, but at least show some love to your fans. if you treat your fans like $h!t, you probably will get the same in return. PR fans still support him, they just won't go that extrA mile for him. Cotto knows this and he seems ok with it.

tito is more outgoing and warm.

 

1- Tito never took a knee, he'd get knocked down get up & knock the other guy out.
2- Tito never went into survival mode, he tried to knock your head off all night.
3- Tito didnt do catchweights, 153 for the Margarito & 159 for Martinez.
4- Tito didnt continually change trainers like a *****, he kept his father as his trainer all throughout his career, Cotto assaulted his uncle & trainer.

 

All my inlaws are from PR and they love Miguel. My house is filled with them on fight night. The ones who have met him say he was really nice to them. He is huge among the puerto ricans and nuyoricans. Tito is barely mentioned. It's only on ESB that I hear Cotto is not popular with puertoricans.

 

Tito was the more charming and the better fighter.
