When you beat the man, you become the man. By virtue of beating martinez Cotto became the man in the middle weight division.

What a stupid post. Do you realize the hypocrisy?

Cotto hadn't ever fought at MW before yet he just fought for the MW title and won it.

So, if Canelo fighting for the title would be a joke to you, then so was Cotto fighting for the title (and winning it).

no. the real lineal Champ is actually Martin Murray.

whether people like it or not, he clearly beat Martinez only to get ****ed over. so he's the real Champ.

but Martinez wasn't the man after what Murray did to him.

plus, he's avoided a fight with Golovkin. a real Champ would have fought his biggest rival, not refuse to take the test that most were calling for.

It's not a joke to me. i want Cotto to fight MWs.
I'm not going to discredit the lineal MW champ by suggesting he should fight a JMW(possibly another catchweight?).
Cotto is a MW. He needs to fight MWs.

Did Murry ever beat Martinez or I'm I missing something?

Its well documented that Martinez been injured the few past months. His manager had also promised that Martinez will fight Golovkin right after Cotto even though Golovkin have done nothing to deserve a shot against Martinez.

I've told you, you argue for argument sake.

At least last night you witnessed how a younger fighter is supposed to handle an older fighter. You knock them out, not win a split decision while getting knocked down in the process.

    ?

Well then, you must hate Sergio and Golovkin, because both have fought their fair share of JMW's moving up during each of their respective title reigns.

Oddly enough, back in the day, it was seen as a legit challenge to the title any time the champion from a lower division challenged the champion, and that was back with only 8 divisions... Many of the ATG's of the past have their best wins over fighters new to a division. Don't be biased or hypocritical all of a sudden.

It wasn't a knock out. Martinez corner stopped the fight.

Well, basically its the same thing. Whether the refs stop or the conner stops it, its still a stoppage at the end of the day.

No, I'm not a Martinez fan. He could have proved that he is still the man @160 but chose to sell the lineal title to a blown up welterweight.
Miguel Cotto will not fight Golovkin but will get a pass from you f*ckers.
You will still say dumb **** about Golovkin needing to "step up" or "beat somebody" while the lineal MW champ fights a JMW...again.

Not the same thing to me.
Martinez should have been knocked out but Cotto couldn't or just didn't do it for what ever reason.

    Ironic...

You say that Cotto should be ridiculed for fighting a JMW and not a true MW contender like Golovkin. However, what has Golovkin done to become a MW contender? Beat a bunch of JMW's.

What do you mean by "Martinez should have been knocked out," exactly?

He proved that he was legitimate by defeating the real Middleweight Champion Kelly Pavlik, moving up from 154 to do so. Golovkin is no more deserving of short at Sergio than Quillin, Murry and other middleweight contenders. Like Quillen, Golovkin is no more than a paper champion. The belt he's holding belonged to Sergio before Sergio was stripped due to boxing politics.

    A bunch? lol
"Who GGG beat?" "He ain't fight nobody!"
It's always the same **** from you f*ckers.
I know Golovkin doesn't use the shoulder roll or speak Spanish, but he is the best fighter @160. If you can't see that Golovkin is the best MW in the world, then you are a f*cking idiot or you are just being willfully ignorant.

Who(in your opinion) does Golovkin have to beat to "do enough" to get a fight with Miguel Cotto...at 160lbs?:rofl
    This should be good.
