Porter crouches down and throws hooks and shots over the top. i wouldn't exactly call that being unpredictable. his moving in and out of range is pretty sloppy, any fighter with a little bit of ring knowledge will take advantage of it. just watch the Diaz fights. he took centre ring and made Porter do all the work in trying to get inside. Diaz was able to counter effectively because of Porter being so raw, predictable, and wide open. and it was a well past his best former Lightweight that did that. Brook is far better on the counter than Diaz. he's stronger, fresher, quicker, and more powerful. this will cause problems for Porter if he uses the same tactics he did against either Alexander and Malignaggi. Porter didn't have to worry about the shots coming back because they couldn't punch for toffee. Brook on the other hand, very much can. watch what happens if Porter comes in with that same mindset and way of fighting. watch what happens when he gets hit by a natural Welter who can punch with perfect timing. there'll be a big difference. if Porter wants to hand the title to Brook so easily and quickly, then that's his prerogative. but he'll regret being so damn stupid, that's for sure. i actually like the huge hyping that Porter is getting. especially coming against a fighter that most on here call a nobody. well that nobody is going to show that so called "next big thing" what he's all about very soon now. i can't wait. you really think Porter became much physically stronger only a short while ago out of thin air??? that physical strength came at the same time a certain dodgy conditioner came into his camp. it's pretty easy to see what Porter is all about. he's a cheat. but he'll get away with it because he has one of the best out there to make sure he passes whatever test he's made to do. but those tests will be as weak as they always are over there. nothing but meaningless **** tests. and if anything better in terms of testing comes about, he'll pass them as i say because he has one of the best out there working for him. his reputation is well known.
Anyone who works with Conte is signing up for suspicion. I get that. But he has also dropped down to become a full time ww. And being a naturally heavier guy fighting at ww gives him a strength and power advantage over most. Either way, you speak as if Brook has actually proved himself. Where did he get this "perfect timing"? I'd like to place a friendly wager on this fight, if it comes off. Something suitable. State the terms if you like.
that strength didn't exist when he fought Gomez and Diaz. it's only been his recent fights that he's looked much stronger than he did before. i've watched a lot of Porter on the way up and thought he wasn't going anywhere due to lacking strength and being a bit flaky. the same thoughts i had about Peterson until he showed up against Khan looking a lot better than he'd done before. then next minute, he gets busted. :think no one becomes visibly stronger over such a short period of time. and it's not like he's just got his man strength or anything, he's 26 years old. he's in his prime already. sorry, but he looks dodgy as ****. his career wasn't going the way they all thought it would from the start, so they've got in the help to give him an edge. it's clear to see. i'll have a little bet with you. how about, if Porter wins, i have to write that Des is the greatest poster on ESB and is the king of all, at the end of every post for a month. the same for you if Brook wins. deal? :think
Was going life and death with bums. Hires Victor Conte as strength and conditioning coach. Gets a **** load more stamina. Does anyone actually NOT think Porter is juicing if they was pushed to answer? :think
No. You must write this and only this when prompted...... "All Brits have horrible teeth, and glass jaws in which to store them." I will write something of your choosing. Edit: I'd also like to say that it's not so much that I'm convinced of Porter being the next coming, it's that, style-wise, I think he is a nightmare for Brook. And the fact that Brook has been so very protected that he is not going to have the answers for Porter.
Suspicion is justified when Conte is involved. But there is nothing beyond that affiliation that would suggest any hanky panky. He KO'd Malignaggi. That's it. I'm not so naive as to say it isn't possible, because it is. Doesnt mean he has done anything for sure. Again he's lost weight and is now a full time welter after fighting much of the time at jmw and above.
Tough enough to call, mostly because Brook hasn't really been tested at the top level. I think Porter's willingness to get close and rough it up is going to trouble Brook who likes to stand off and pick his shots. Porter might just steam roll through him like he did against Paulie. Brook has to make him respect his power early, and keep his precision jab in Porter's face all night.
****ing hell Des, you really want to make this quite brutal don't you. my idea was like skipping in the park while holding hands with the girl next door. yours is of the more sinister variety. OK, you've got a deal. :good i'll write that whenever you want. but you have to write this down when i so choose.... "all Americans are grotesquely obese. actually have worst teeth than the Brits ( 90% have been found to suffer from gum disease) are complete cowards who refuse to travel and fight the best. over-hype a load of garbage and try to cast it down as something special when it's nothing but ****. has a massive failure rate when those hyped up fighters get destroyed. take drugs because they're physically, mentally, and emotionally weak. are stupid as ****. stink of B.O from eating too much fatty foods and not washing every day, and is a country crawling with nothing more than a bunch of loony religious rednecks that have the IQ of a dogs fart" looks like we're on.
Decided to watch a few fights of both fighters again, just to refresh the mind. Going for an early KO for Porter, 5 rounds or less. Fights at a completely different pace and intensity to Brook, without a doubt stronger and faster, while not as good a boxer. While Brook is a good boxer and very precise puncher with decent power, he's definitely pedestrian, taking his time and picking shots and you don't get the opportunity to do that against Porter. Just don't see Brook having enough to keep Porter off of him. He's going to get steam rolled out of there. Would love to be proven wrong though.
Ok, but I'll have to adopt the whole part about over-hyped fighters into my line for you.... "All Brits have horrible teeth, and glass jaws in which to store them. They always over-hype a load of garbage and try to cast it down as something special when it's nothing but ****. has a massive failure rate when those hyped up fighters inevitably get destroyed. They never learn." It's only fair. Yours was far more heinous than mine. Do we have terms?
:rofl:rofl you started this. i was all for something quite nice and pleasant, but you came with the brutal stuff. hey, what can i say, you inspired me. :good lets say the terms are for two months after the result. cool? EDIT: i'm still laughing my head off. and it's 2:00 AM over here.
