Why is Wladimir Klitschko reluctant to fight Kubrat Pulev?

I feel Pulev doesn't really have the big time punching power to make Wlad nervous, nor do I think he has the skills to land a bunch on Wladimir. Kubret does like to fight and land, but leaves himself open to being hit in the process. He had a nice fight with Travis Walker, and that is a good win. Imo though, anyone who gets staggered by and then goes the distance with Walker just doesn't have enough to beat Wlad.

I like Pulev also, its just that this Champion is too dam n much for him.

If contenders fought contenders these days, I think Pulev-Povetkin would be a very good fight, and a winnable one for Kubret.

Too bad Pulev didn't go the WBC route instead. Stiverne-Pulev is a nice fight also.

Its my opinion that Stiverne removes Wilder from the conversation in quick, violent fashion.

This seems like a trend with certain posters on this forum.

Whys Wlad avoiding such a fighter, Wlad fights and shuts down the fighter and then all of a sudden they become overrated and he's avoiding another fighter.

It is shame you do not have believe in Pulev as a Bulgarian. I doubt Pulev will be floored. Klitschko won't be able to hit him. All the way Pulev for me.

whats this reluctance thing? wlad is fighting him soon, hes not reluctant.

fair play to criticise him for running gibbering from another KO by a 38 yr old retired fatboy neverman or for facing fatboy after fatboy as he has often done, but theres no sense in criticising him when hes making an effort.

And seems to me that wlad is at last making an effort to cement some legacy after his fatboy opponents era. Well done wlad for starting to fight decent opponents again (povetkin and this pulev guy).

and YES that's two semi decent opponents in a row - that's wlads best run of opposition ever since he used to get serial KOed.

Two semi-decent opponents in a row? Leapai was Wlad's last opponent, not Povetkin.

BTW, I don`t want to be Dino`s advocate but what he is saying is not that Pulev will definitely beat Wlad. What he says is that Wlad always looks for the easy fights. And he is right. How come Leapai, Pianeta, Mormeck etc. were good contenders but Pulev, according to Wlad, was "too raw and green behind the ears"? Pulev fought 3 eliminators (Dimitrenko, Ustinov, Thompson) and top contenders like Adamek, Jennings and Fury found some lame excuses not to face him to become MANDATORY CHALLENGERS. FFS, Pulev fought Oloukun in his 3rd fight, Page - 4th, Skelton 5th, Guinn 8th fight!!! Who has Wlad fought in his first 10 fights. You can`t tell of someone that had more than 200 am fights "green".
Is Wlad really intimidated by Pulev?!? Do you people really believe that there were more money in the Leapai fight than facing Pulev?

Since when in boxing is a mandatory defense dependent on how much money the challenger brings? Following your perverted logic, boxing is not a sport, but some reality show - whoever brings most TV money gets to fight for the title. Sick times for the sport, really...

There is no reason for him to be. The only half decent fight Pulev has beat is thompson. Wladimir would make easy work for him. I don't blame Wlad if he is going to try and fight Stiverne for the last belt though.

Now you're speaking on behalf of Poland now?? Let's see, you've spoken for the US, Russia and France now, probably some others in there to....

Why don't you try leaving your moms basement first, get out, get a life, and get a look at your own country and reality before you try assuming the nationalities of other countries and projecting your delusions onto them

No I am saying boxing is a business and champions are most excited about those opponents that bring them the most money (or titles). If you're saying otherwise you're clueless.

This thread is not about if Wlad should fight his mandatory challengers. He should, I always advocated that. However, the thread is about if should be excited about fighting Pulev.
