His mobility is gone after the injuries and surgery. Anyone can become the middleweight champ now.

He's finished. And it didn't take the cotto fight to prove that. He's been steadily declining for years. He should be financially well off enough to retire unless he's managed his money poorly. His legacy isn't great enough to be considered one of the division's best all time, but it certainly isn't anything to be ashamed of. Its a good time to retire and I sincerely hope he does.

Retire or become an opponent. Milk the sport for every cent. Beats a real job.

Im sure a good looking, amiable guy like him to could find a cushy job on some Spanish speaking boxing commentary team.

Retire seems to be the best choice for him!

Retire. Sergio did good considering he started off late and nothing was given to him when he was moving up.

Martinez was arguably top 3 p4p at one time. He does not have the body to compete at the top of the game anymore, he should retire with his head held high because he was an excellent middleweight champion.

"He became old over a night," yes, but that night was when he fought Martin Murray, not Cotto...

Wasn't overnight, look at his performances up until the fight. It was completely obvious during the Murray fight. Looking back at it he is lucky to have gotten by JCCJR because imo he was beginning to fizzle out since around the time he fought Macklin
