The Difference in "levels" between TRULY elite Cotto, vs soccer player Sergio...

THIS is why Sergio wound up on his ass, dazed and confused. His knee was fine, his chin was not. If you are not sharp enough, you will run out and buy Sergio posters after watching Sergio beat your Chavez Jr's, Murrays (he lost to Murray) and Cintrons of the game. A more astute analyst recognizes the levels in this game and quickly understands that the quality of oppenents, can make a cyclist like Sergio, complete with his Roy Jones act, look the greatest of all time. That is of course, until he meets a born and bred Puerto Rican pit bull. A fighter like Cotto who has been doing this his entire life...A guy underrated by a few questionable losses to some curious opponents * I called it from the very beginning. Cotto's skills and true boxing I.Q. would make the difference. No hands at his sides, no hyped up "speed" against slow plodders, No. Cotto's speed, however deceptive was present when Mosley came to town. Cotto did not need to look like Sugar Ray against guys like Chavez who trained for only 5 days. Some of you guys fell for the hype and it is never too late to jump off that wagon. That wagon just so you know, is heading for a soccer field somewhere in Spain. Resume's don't lie... Get your mind back son. Cotto > Sergio at ANY time in their careers.

We have to keep Sergio's opposition in mind. His resume is stacked with Drunks, chubby undedicated hype jobs. I would say Williams is the best fighter on his resume and let's be sincere here, Williams while rising, had not yet hit that level. Sergio was athletic for sure, but to compete at a truly world class level, is a whole other game.

 

Son, I am not basing my take on last Saturdays obliteration of the soccer kid. I called it for the past few years on various boxing sites. What about Sergio's resume, do you REALLY think was going to trouble Cotto other than his obvious size advantage? Look at his victim list...What, the Paul Williams haymaker KO ? You have to dig deeper and ask yourself:

"Does a soccer player named Sergio, seriously get to pick boxing as a hobby and truly compete on a world class stage?" Again, I am not talking about looking like Roy Jones against Chavez (John Ruiz) Jr. I am talking about world class opposition. I am not talking about Rehab Pavlik with a staph infection and SERIOUS mental issues during the fight. I am talking "world class" son. Think...

 

Show me WHERE during the fight instruction (sergio bouncing like a kid) or during the first half minute prior to being tagged by Cotto, does Sergio look like he is limping? Admit it, you are seeing what YOU want to see. Anything to take credit away from Cotto because he is not from Texas, California or Arizona. We see you hater

Sergio and Dibella know they got rocked. It's time you let it go and understand that Sergio got clocked and never recovered.

... What Sergio HAD was a SMALL tear. You are trying to act like he had a blown knee. You have football players who have that issue and are back on the field in NO time.

The only thing I will grant Sergio was his age... But as I said in my initial post, Sergio was NEVER ready for Cotto. Did he have bad knees when Margarito (minus plaster) KO'd him a decade ago? No. He had that chin problem though. The chin problem where if he faces anyone with some real skill or at least a WILL to train, is always a liability for Sergio.

Pavlik?
Murray?
Williams?


Let it go. You got taken for a ride on the Sergio Express and that train came off the rails. Let it go.

You base this on what? A victory over Cintron? Sergio's loss to Margarito? A haymaker on Williams? What exactly causes you to think that Sergio beats Cotto 5 years ago?
