If this was Pacquiao....no one would complain. Th man will be making history defend two title in two different weight class at the same time. Only Armstrong and Leonard are in that elite group ( please tell me you guys are going to hate on Armstrong and Leonard for doing the same thing)
Thats quite a statement. First, if PAC managed to snag a 154 belt somehow and tried to trumpet some huge accomplishment of paying the sanctioning fee while fighting a 140 pounder plenty of people would still be rolling their eyes. Second, AFAIK true ATG like the ones you mentioned had a pretty tough schedule and also had a habit of fighting their rivals. If Manny and Floyd are going to keep fighting the Garcias of the world and rematching JMM for the 500th time they should both just retire already.
Legacy would be keeping both belts long enough to challenge Cotto for the WBC title and become a simultaneous three weight champion...
Ray Leonard was never praised for fighting LHW LaDonde at at a SMW catchweight. That fight was a farce. It would of been like Ward winning Dawsons LHW title when he fought him at super middle. But saying that ,it was a very entertaining fight to watch.
I thought he already did that against Madiana? I was under the impression that his WBC title couldn't be won by Maidana, but if Floyd lost, he would be stripped of it. So, he was defending it, but Maidana couldn't win it.
Yes, you are right. Last year, WBC also asked FMJ to drop one of his WBC belts, but it never happened and instead this BS happens
I don't care what belts he defends at this point, it's about seeing somebody being competitive and possibly beat him....so it's not Porter, Thurman, or Pac at 147, Thurman, Canelo rematch (a year or so from now) at 154, or Cotto, Golovkin, Quillen at 160 I don't care...no Garcia, no Khan, and I'm not that into a Maidana rematch either
