well, if you did watch boxing as much as you claim, then i find your questions that you asked in the past to be rather strange if i may say so myself.

Herol, i caught your original post before i posted to Loudon.

why didn't you just leave it at flip flopping???

is it because i didn't flip flop based on the fact that this is the first you've said you have a Girlfriend from Wales???

    idiot.

    Such as?

I ask all sorts of questions.

    It's a forum.

I ask questions to see what other peoples opinions are, as well as for actual answers to things I don't know.

I've learnt a hell of a lot in the last two years from being a member here, especially from the classic section.

I've noticed that you go on there too.

    I miss John Garfield's posts.

    They really were unbelievable.

    assasin,

Loudon's knowledge of Roy since he started posting is enough for me to believe he was watching Roy through the 90's. As was I..

I was born in the south, not all that far from Pensacola, and my family were huge fans since the Olympic robbery, my best friend is from Pensacola and has met Roy on several occasions, (he actually got me a signed Jones boxing glove for Christmas) and I have learned plenty about Roy that I didn't know by reading Loudon's posts.

This actually clears up my questions about Joe fighting Veit again and his mindset in the Salem fight.. I would bet every fighter at some point is guilty of taking a sure win for good money, and to hang onto their belt of course.

    Thanks for sharing.:good

You don't think Calzaghe sounds very bitter when asked about Froch's most recent win? Given Calzaghe's seniority and experience I expected him to react in a more laid back way. Seems it still gets under his skin even today.

No I am not "hating everything Calzaghe" I just think his career has been over-managed and there were many opportunities to get better fights than some of his fierce defenders admit. Some of them claim Calzaghe's track record lacking some depth is the result of boxing politics and circumstances -- but what about team Calzaghe consistently looking for the best risk/reward ratio rather than the best opponent out there.

    That's cool about the glove.

    I've just had a thought.

Has assassin even watched Roy in his prime?

    Has he watched full fights?

Because in the 90's and early 00's, it was hard to see his fights in Britain.

When I was young, Eurosport used to show re runs of his fights. I think some of them may have been live, but I can remember watching the replays either a few days later or even a week later.

I used to buy K.O. magazine, The Ring and Boxing Monthly to read up on him, as obviously there was no internet back then. I used to order his fights on VHS from the ads section of Boxing Monthly.

The first fight I actually saw live, at about 4am, was the Glen Kelly fight in 2002.

They didn't even show the Clinton Woods fight live. I had to watch a replay on Sunday Grandstand the day after.

Frank W's cards in the 90's were great, and a lot of them were double headers, where if you bought the PPV to see the likes of Joe and Naz etc, they'd switch over live to America afterwards to see De La Hoya and Mosley fight etc.

I watched Oscar fight live numerous times.

So my point is this, I used to have to go out of my way to watch Roy's fights.

So I'm wondering how many times assassin has actually seen him fight?

Because it's obvious he didn't go to the lengths I did to watch him.

Obviously, today, all of Roy's fights are available on YouTube etc.

But why would he watch his full fights when he hates the guy?

So he comes on here typing all of this nonsense, but I don't think he's even really watched him.

It wouldn't surprise me if the first time he saw Roy, was against Joe.

Which would explain the bizarre things he writes about Roy in his posts.

Tell me Loudon and I wont know if you are quickly googling it or not, but heres a question - when Calzaghe won that title, what was the name of the fight card it was on. Also tell me what the main event was and one undercard fight

    Hi Mindreader.

I have nothing against Loudon and he gives posts in a respectable way, which is good. But many of his posts and on Jones, seem to be based on his opinion and what he thinks fighters were thinking.

Still its a forum and its all about others opinions, whether we agree or not, though I like to keep to the facts

    No worries. :good

No, I knew you new that. It was an old post and only part of it was directed at you, the part you and Loudon were discussing regarding Joe taking Lacy on two fights after fighting Veit, which I forgot to put in bold.

Lacy would've actually been Joe's next fight following the Veit rematch had Lacy not had to accommodate Reid. That part. :good
