He looked lethargic and unmotivated the whole fight, just didn't have the fire and viciousness he usually does. I think he might be the type of guy that's greatly motivated by being the underdog, however now that he was in a situation where he was the champion and on top with his opponent being the underdog he just wasn't motivated.

Algieri's movement and Provodnikov's lack of jab.

I think it was more about him being uncertain on how to attack. I have No idea why his team made that match.

Think it was mostly just never having a chance to set his feet and unload, algeri kept moving and never gave him a stationary target which frustrated ruslan. That being said ruslan did openly say he was disappointed in having to fight algeri

He was just in with a guy with good boxing skill not a face first brawler. Provo said it himself

Yes his bar room brawling style was shown not to be effective against a boxer.

Yes. Months ago when the fight was announced he said he said was disappointed because he wants to fight Marquez.

Was that a mandatory? I have no clue, unless he ad to, why they made that match. He'd have had much more success against guys like rios, Lucas, porter.

He's already said himself that this was the worst possible style for him to face. He didn't look mentally weak in the first round did he? Let's just give some credit to the winner.

HBO had him set to fight Karim Mayfield which was his mandatory but then Mayfield lost to Dulorme and lost his ranking.

But at the end of the day when a grown man is throwing punches at your face I feel like there is no way you don't get motivated pretty damn quick. Motivated or not he struggles with that style

Seriously, Algieri is 5'11 and runs like a rabbit from a 5'6 guy. That's ****ing hilarious. His weakass shots and slapping from the clinch was annoying to watch.

A World Champion should not be struggling with a style called "boxing".

He walks forward like a caveman with no defence taking head shots, that is not boxing the way I learned it.

He got outsmarted, and out boxed by a Man with a big heart.
