Harrison's used Choi for sparring in the past, but if they were to fight I'm sure Harrison would have the beaten of him comfortably. John Simpson had won a competitive fight against Choi last year and no disrespect to Simpson, but Harrison's levels above him.
Shame Gavin Rees retired, that would have been interesting. I know there was noise being made about six months ago about a possible fight with Curtis Woodhouse. Scott would need a warm up before a fight at that level but it is a fight that should be thought about seriously to test his level.
Woodhouse is fighting at Light Welter, Scott at Lightweight so don't see that happening. When Woodhouse fought at Lightweight v Mathews he was destroyed, as Harrison would have. Scott wouldn't need a warm up for that fight at Lightweight
Seriously ??? He blocked that many shots with his face its a wonder it didnt have cleto reyes stamped on his forehead !!!!!
Harrisons problem will be his fitness now. On his way to 40, not exactly treated his body like a temple over the years. I seriously doubt he could get back into shape enough to cut it at top domestic level now. Theres a difference between making weight and looking ripped and been 12 rounds fit. As has been said his best bet would be to travel for paydays in Europe trading on his name.
I was going to ask something like this.....although he has a body like a bodybuilder these days...I wondered how his boxing fitness was now..if he'd done much boxing training or sparring since the walsh fight....which I cant believe looking at boxrec was a year and two months ago now
Been working out I gym at least once a day 5-6 days a week since then, and running gym classes, personal training. Is obviously very fit just now, if he is fighting fit without a full training camp I don't know
but what kind of working out?...any sparring or specific boxing training....or is it all fitness or muscle training?
Scott tweeted that he will not fight on 27th June, I am glad in many ways. Hearn wanted him on bill, but Scott is obviously making sure he has had an intense training camp for his comeback, instead of 2 weeks notice.
Very sad to see a good World Champion become an alcoholic, end up in prison for years, unable to fight in the ring for years, make a comeback when impossible to reach anywhere near his top level and sadly be beaten by a bum Liam Walsh who was not fit to carry his spit bucket. The Real McCoy has turned into the Meal Toy for younger fighters and should have stayed away from boxing after spending years in prison. Very sad story for a man who should be remembered as one of the boxing greats up North.
