Questioning the legitimacy if the award because Wlad never won it. Wlad against the world.

He never deserved it because he's not a good sportsman.

I'd question the legitimacy of the award because only one fighter in 80 years that wasn't fighting in the USA won it

Well when a magazine is based in the us and only one boxer in 80 who fought outside the us has ever won it .it shows that the ring magazine is bias

Also by putting broner in there top 10 it shows there bias and ruins it's credibility

No latter what wlad has done or will do through out his career he would have had no chance of getting ring fighter of the year

Only 5 Americans since the year 2000 have won it.

Foreign fighters earn fame and riches in America if they are good enough. You want to make it , thats where you go. End of discussion.

The ring magazine is compromised and bias if you can't see that you are either an American, an idiot or both

The Ring has made some poor choices in the past, such as Ali winning it in 78' for making history by becoming the first 3 HW champ. In order to do that, he had to lose a fight. To a guy with 7 pro fights. Basically he got credit for losing. But not giving Wlad the award for any year, well what year did he deserve it?

There has only been two fighters from the US in the last 10 years who have won Fighter of the Year. Wlad not winning Fighter of the Year has little to do with where he is from and more about his level of opposition and accomplishments in one year.

Which year would he deserve it?

2006: Beats the crap about of Chris Byrd for the IBF belt, stops Calvin Brock later in the year. Solid year. Manny Pacquiao goes 3-0 and ends up winning. All 3 guys were coming off defeats, although in his defense, one of them was a (aging) great in Erik Morales. Floyd Mayweather defeated the last 2 WW lineal/Ring champs. Unfortunately, it was against Zab Judah (coming off a loss) and Carlos Baldomir. A pretty weak year for candidates.

2007: Beats Ray Austin and Lamon Brewster. Floyd Mayweather gets the award for his wins against Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton. I thought Kelly Pavilk should have won. Both Mayweather and Pavlik were more deserving than Wlad.

2008: Wins a unification bout against Sultan Ibragimov, then beats Tony Thompson and Hasim Rahman. Pacquiao wins the award for his wins over JMM, Diaz, and DLH. If you want to argue that he shouldn't have won because JMM deserved the win, then the award should have either gone to JMM (Since you'd be scoring it for JMM, who also went up and won the LW title against Casamayor) and Vic Darchinyan. Vic went 3-0 and beat the crap out of Cristian Mijares.

2009: Fought once and beat Chagaev in a unification bout. Pacquiao was an obvious choice here for his wins over Hatton and Cotto.

2010: Beats Eddie Chambers and Sam Peter. Not a better year than the winner,Sergio Martinez, who won the MW title against Pavlik and sparked out P-Will with one punch.

2011: Fought once, beating David Haye in a unification bout. A lesser year than Andre Ward, who went 2-0, beating Abraham and Froch. The Froch fight was a unification bout, for The Ring title, and the Super 6 title. Ward's year was better than Wlad.

2012: Beats Mormeck, Thompson, and Wach. A good year, but more deserving than the winner Nonito Donaire? Donaire went 4-0, including a unification bout and a win to capture The Ring title at 122.

2013: Defeats Pianeta and Povetkin. Adonis Stevenson won the award, going 4-0, including a first round stoppage over The Ring champ at 175, Chad Dawson.

The strongest case he had was 2006, which was not a strong one anyway.

What year would you give to Lennox Lewis?

The strongest case he had was 1999.

Yes, in the past, The Ring was so focused on the heavyweights...The Foreman-Frazier massacre winning Fight of the Year, Foreman-Young winning it over Saad-Johnson 1, the ridiculous win for Ali in 1978.

But putting aside their previous mistakes, which year would Lewis really deserve it? His best years for the award would be 1997, 1999, and 2000.

1997: Lewis was very impressive in taking Golota out in 1 round. Unfortunately, he also had to deal with a guy who had a nervous breakdown and should have still been in drug rehab (McCall), and another guy who held onto Lewis for dear life (Akinwande), which through no fault of his, didn't help him in the voting.

1999: Beat Evander Holyfield twice (the draw was a disgrace). I didn't see Ayala's fights, only the Johnny Tapia one, which is an excellent win.

2000: Lewis had a great year and went 3-0 against Grant, Botha, and Tua. He wasn't gonna beat Tito though, who moved up and won 2 titles at 154. I don't think he would have won over Shane Mosley either. Even though Mosley fought only 2x compared to Lewis's 3, that win over DLH was huge.

Its also how easily you beat them. Did Louis really have 4 great years beating top guys when they were at their best?

Ring Magazine, who caters to North America says it was the 1930's.

The division has good fights when other top ten guys meet each other. Wlad's just too big, skilled, experienced and powerful to lose.

So why are his oppnents not winning fight or fighter of the year awards before he fights them?

He can't even out box these guys cleanly and within the rules.
