I saw that James Toney and Roy Jones will be fighting on the same card and I'm wondering what guys who are in the later stages of their careers make per fight. Guys like Toney, RJJ, lets say Shannon Briggs or any of the older fighters that are still around but are no longer relevant to a belt or p4p.

Depends on the promoter really. I was asked to work with Razor Ruddock when he was to fight in Atlanta, Georgia and he was offered a 3 fight contract totalling $1,500...the pay increments were $250, $500, $750 for 3- four round fights.

Roy Jones fought Max Alexander in Georgia and only made between $1,000 and $3,000 for the fight.

Some promoters pay better than others, especially overseas for faded American fighters, particularly fighters with name recognition.

Depends if they're headlining a club card or if they're being brought in to pad a resume.

ROY could still demand high 5 figures vs top 5 CWs......Toney could get 6 figures if he were to get in with a big name Showtime fighter like Tarver.

Best bet for these guys is to start training other fighters and getting their 15% cut.

Jones promoted himself against Max Alexander, no? I could easily see him getting high 5 figures for his fights in Russia etc. He's shot but he can be at least entertaining when matched against guys like th last one for the WBU. Toney is beyond shot and I doubt makes as much as Roy.

Yeah, Roy's record label has been a headache for years.
