Exactly, Mayweather does the same thing. 1.5 million for Maidana, another career payday.

Nothing Mayweather does is wrong, he actually overpays his opponents. :deal

    Mayweather the Philanthropist.

IMO, and many others, Wlad would probably have stopped Povetkin had he NOT hugged all night. Povetkin got caught with some flush shots and Wlad bear hugging him looked to prevent the KO.

when pulev has been knocked out, you'll be saying he ducked fury/chisora winner, by fighting his mandatory.

Without the hugging Povetkin could of been able to counter punch and land a meanginful punch. Wlad made sure that risk was eliminated by bending the rules because he isn't competant as a boxer to do it. His overall skil level is minimal
And people want to rank him as a top 10 ATG:rofl:nut

Unfortunately for Pulev, most of that windfall likely goes to Sauerland Promotions for helping Pulev get this far.

No, that was just me. Most people gave Povetkin little chance. Greats win fights against guys they are meant to lose to. Along with other factors.

Remember Helenius' father said that Sauerland has the absolutely worst contracts for their fighters. He called them slave contracts. Pulev is likely to see very little of his $1.4m purse.

Same can be said about Steve Cunningham when he fought your precious Glass Jawed Tyson Fury. Without all the holding, clinching, grabbing, elbows, forearms, and pushing Cunningham likely KO's Fury.

Fury grabbed USS to stop him getting away. Wlad did it to stop Povetkin getting in. Fury lets his hands go on the inside. Big difference.

And Fury never hoisted himself up in his toes to clear more distance down the back like Wlad did.

Fury fought a disgraceful fight with spoiling tactics after getting put on his ass by a Cruiserweight.
