interesting FIGHT, George had the early start but Vital had good movement and 4 inches in height and good movement a solid chin, the biggest man Foreman would have fought and Vitali certainly had a solid chin....I may lean with VK

Gotta go with Foreman though I think it is possible Vitali could be a bad match up for him. I picture this fight being something like a mixture of Foreman`s gold medal winning fight from the Olympics and Klitschko vs Lewis. I think Vitali would be able to get through with good punches on the hard charging wide swinging Foreman but I think Foreman`s power along with his jab would prove to be to much and he would bust up Vitali and likely stop him sometime around the 4th or 5th round in an action packed fight between two big men.

Hard to take anyone who calls Ali "feather chinned" at all seriously.

It took Vitali 8 roundsd to do Danny Williams

So are you/are you not claiming Danny Williams chin is better than Ali and Foremans?

Danny Williams most certainly did have a better chin than clay.

Show me Williams getting dropped heavily against a 180 lbs man.

Ali's chin was a myth, he was starched by Cooper and with real officials would have lost that fight by Ko.

Nothing's going to save him from Vitali, Ali was very easy to hit, sitting on the ropes is the worst thing to do against a guy of 6'8" 250 lbs with two handed power (see Kirk Johnson).

Would Ali even take half the punishment Williams did?

I didn't vote.. The fact is I haven't a damn clue.. On the surface we might ask ourselves, how in the hell can a man who who quit against Chris Byrd, lost to a washed up champion via cut stoppage and struggled to beat an equally aged Corrie Sanders possibly beat the man who destroyed Joe Frazier and Ken Norton?? The answer I suppose is styles and chemistry. George Foreman, one of my favorite heavyweights and possibly one of the top three best punchers in history, relied greatly on imposing himself physically on his opponents. Against a fighter who is arguably his equal in strength, only 4 inches taller, 30 lbs heavier and possibly possessing an equally sturdy chin and more stamina, a win for big George doesn't seem so cut and dry. Klitschko would have the reach and an ok outside fighting game. He'd land often and take some good shots as well. Foreman may very well win this, but its going to have to be early devastating. Perhaps another cut like the one Lennox opened or maybe a freak shoulder injury like the one in the Byrd fight... Or maybe he flat out KO"s Vitali with a big one two combination off the chin.. Either way its a tough fight, and frankly its not out of either man's hands to win..

Anyone who says Danny Williams chin > Alis chin does not deserve a response, they deserve a bullet...or 2

He was (with real officials) stopped by a man smaller than the current LHW champion (Adonis Stevenson).

If Vitali was dropped heavily against a small heavy of today like Adamek, how would you rate his chin?

Ali was and is THE measuring stick of heavyweight greatness and will be for a long time to come. Neither Wladmir nor Vitali will be ever knocking him off his perch.

didn't Vitali quit against a former mw?

    i rest my case
