it is so ridiculous. Ray is the great not Duran. Ray beat the legends not Duran. Duran had the excuses not Ray. Ray had the wins not Duran. Durans best wins Barkley and Moore!!

Duran was never overrated it just people bad mouth him a lot because of that "No Mas" and people still debate whether he said it or not. The guy was a beast at light weight and to be honest he would of ran through all the light weight in todays era with no problem. You do realize this guy got a win over a prime SRL and that is saying a lot since SRL only has a couple of loses. I think when duran moved up that's when that's when things kind of didn't go his way but he still manage to win a 154 and 160 title !!!

nothing to do with no mas. He lost to every great he fought. His wins are overrated. Leonard beat him up in the rematch. He is overrated. I don't see the great wins.

Ray Leonard was great and Ray beat him in the rematch easyyyy.!!. Ray beat the great fighters not Duran. Barkley beat Hearns but is not as great as Hearns. Average to no good fighters at lightweight.
Over 100 wins? Yori Boy Campas must be as great. Where are Duran great wins? He is overrated simple.

yes, I think Pernell outclasses Duran like the other greats Duran fought did. Hearns vs. Pernell? Tough fight for anyone since Tommy Hearns is so tall and rangy but I think Pernell could counter Hearns when Tommy gets reckless like he always does. You can always count on Tommy Hearns to brawl. He loved doing it and it was his undoing!!!!! Sure Hearns could have outboxed anyone and been as boring as Jones but he loved to brawl. Just ask Hagler and anyone else who fought him. Even Duran hit Tommy with right hands and stunned him in round 2 until Tommy got to Roberto!.

How the hell can he be overrated when he won 4 titles in 4 different weight class? He beat SRL in his prime but since he lost the rematch he is overrated? Didn't he beat Iran Barkley for the middleweight title which btw is the same guy who beat Hearns twice! Sure he lost to 3 top guys that everyone and their mom mentions on here but what about everyone else? I might not be old enough to see all his live fights but I do study on who the guy beats which were indeed some impressive fighters.

Who cares if he beats the guy who beat the guy. Why didn't he just win his Robbie Sims fight he could beat the guy who beat the guy who beat Hearns. But I will say one thing he never beat Thomas Hearns, My guy Pernell would have beaten Thomas Hearns. He is overrated. His wins are against second raters never a first rate win and when he had one they beat him easy in the rematch!!!!! Look I have seen other forums and there are many people who think Duran is overrated not just me!!!

Pernell was faster than Duran and worked off defense and speed to win rounds and Duran didn't have one of his second rate guys he can dominate to beat. Pernell was a great fighter and Duran record against greats were how good? 1-5!!! yeah best fighter ever!!

Talk to Hagler he will tell you how difficult Duran was he mentioned Duran's eyes as two black fearless charcoals, son go to you tube and watch the fight I'm sure will change your perception of the best Latin American fighter.
