Yeah but he was more accomplished than Gatti ...On accomplishments alone Gatti doesn't deserve to go in over Martinez .

Some of the worst logic I have ever read.

    - So let's take away 2 great wins. Pavlik has what, 2 losses himself? Williams was one of the most feared fighters in the game before Martinez slept him.

    - 4 year reign as MW champ

    - Gatti is inducted, so let's simplify the fact that he was in great fights, which overshadows the fact that he was a 2 weight champ and fought some top notch guys. Even if he shouldn't be inducted, don't contradict yourself by letting in other non-deserving people.

If you fill a stadium anywhere in the world as a champion then you should go into the hall of fame. its on fame and pulling power and not skills in my opinion.

    Ooh. Interesting.

Taking the words literally... I guess it's an argument and is supported by some current fighters like Gatti and Braddock.

yes, hopefully he'll get in. if he were british, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. we'd be having to defend against arguments saying he was the greatest middleweight ever.

Although fighters like Barry McGuigan, Arturo Gatti and Jess Willard are in the IBHOF, I don't think we should just put any fighters in because of that. If you feel the criteria is too lenient, and that these guys shouldn't be in the IBHOF, wouldn't it be better if they just didn't make those "mistakes" again?

Martinez doesn't have a HOF resume, wasn't a "famous" fighter who brought a ton of attention to the sport (hall of FAME), and wasn't a great fighter. He was a good one who was fortunate to be in a **** era.

Great story, seemingly a decent and likeable guy, but that hardly makes one worthy of the IBHOF

No, I personally don't think he did enough, but I don't have a vote and the Hall of Fame has put in fighters less deserving. So, there you go...
