No one brawls with Liston and gets away with it either.

Liston had a better range of punches, better defense, and all-around boxing skill. Liston is not Joe Frazier walking into the firing range without a plan B or Ali forced to lean against the ropes without sufficient power to get George's respect.

Liston is a patient, skilled tank that would be slipping George slow-ish bombs while countering them. George would need all of his power to help him. And he better protect that chin which isn't made out of granite. If Liston hits George with any kind of consistancy he is not going to go nuts and leve himself open. He is going to box his way in.

Liston fought with a broken jaw. George ever do that? Even if George is tougher...is he that much tougher?

Faster...nah..Younger Liston had typical Heavyweight handspeed. George never looked fast to me. Lets just say they are somewhat equal in both departments? I think Liston has the edge in both.

Foreman was not faster than Liston for handspeed.

Liston threw many straight punches Foreman did not ,straight punches invariably beat round swings.

Liston was always prepared to momentarily give ground when the situation required it.
As you say, he was better defensively than Foreman and threw straighter punches, his jab was also more effective, and Foreman was never hard to tag with a jab. Liston ,in his prime was reasonably adept at slipping punches Foreman relied on catching them on his gloves.
I like Sonny in this fight.

Instead of the childish insults why dont you answer my question ?
    I've asked it twice now.

I know why , because you have no idea of the correct answer, you naive and silly little boy.

You call me stupid, yet you state Liston could go 15rds laid back ,Liston never fought 15rds in his life!

Go back to the paddling pool, this is the deep end. You're out of your depth .

    You have it!

Sonny never learned to do so. Since neither man would be consistantly giving ground it would not be a factor in this fight.
At least ,"I Know Jack **** Avafeel", who started this thread has learned something.

My opinion is from what I have seen too .

I bet on Liston to beat Ali.
I haven't formed my opinion from a couple of clips on You Tube.:patsch
Which fights have you seen, and how much of them?

    saw him destroy patterson ^
    the ali fights.
and a few long clips of liston vs williams, in this fight he did show a very nice jab and good speed, but also a man who can get hit alot.

if im proven wrong with liston ill change my opinion, i just like foremans power and punches coming from allsorts of angles to unsettle and hurt liston

You are entitled to whatever opinion you want to espouse, but its best to form it on comprehensive analysis. Liston was past prime by the time he fought Floyd.
