Wasn't that fight ages ago? That's like comparing one of them old Manny Pacquiao losses to the present day Pac-Man.....or the 1993 Barry Bonds to the 2002 Barry Bonds..

Thats not what im basing it off of. I enjoy reminding everyone of the beating Martinez recieved by the hands of a mexican warrior. Chavez' chin is solid and wont get knocked out, and i also dont see Martinez being the aggressor or outworking Chavez. I see Sergio slowing down from body shots and spending most of his time being on the defensive and struggling to plant his feet to get his shots off. There is no chance Martinez gets the nod in a close fight. I see it going something like 7-5 either way but Jr will get the nod. Thats just how it goes.

I thought Chavez was quite stupid for bringing that up. Now this poster has one upped him. So sad...

I agree, Martinez has gained experience and he has improved.

Newsflash......so had Manny Pacquiao each time after his first two Marquez fights, and yet Marquez found it easier to beat the improved Pacquiao every time out.

My point is that styles make fights and Chavez digging down to the body and up with uppercuts may be Sergio's kryptonite.
    Stay tuned! :yep

Look at Linares. Knocked out by a mexican then gets knocked out even worse by another mexican. Martinez was wise to stay away from mexican fighters after that horrible beat down Antonio gave him. He'll probably make some excuse about Jr being too big and drop down to 154 so he can get knocked out by Canelo
