Why is Chad Dawsons purse only $15k?

Chad wasn't getting paid at the best of times. he just wasn't a ticket seller.

although the money he's getting is a bit ****. i thought they would have paid a former champ a bit more than that.

 

Maybe he doesn't care about the money? Maybe he took the low pay as motivation, to see for himself what he has left.

 

His performance in recent fights has been disappointing and as I recall he quit on his stool for one fight.
I guess this is his do-or-die opportunity. If he looks good he's back to making money, if not, then his career is flat lined.

That is very low! Still he has had his share of monster paydays and as long as he returns to form he will get more. Dont feel too bad for Chad For a guy who brings in zero fans or viewers he does ok.

15k for a two months training camp against a bum sounds good to me. They're basically paying Dawson simply to get back into shape, not paying him to fight.
