Lomachenko will never reach full potential needs a top american trainer

Yeah i think Lomachenko needs to switch it around and get some new people in his corner for a couple of fights. His power seems limited and his stamina too. Definitely going to need some strength and conditioning before getting in there with legitimate fighters.

 

Salido in his second fight, GRJ in his third.

Lomo looked excellent but he had a huge size and reach advantage. Russell was too small and had no power.

He lost to Salido and GRJ is a good win but that's it. The current top is still going to be a whole different ball game even Donaire who looks to be on the downslide. I personally think they are bringing him along too fast, it worked out against GRJ but he needs more time and different corner before going for other titles and top fighters.

i'd rather see Loma stand his ground and counter instead of hopping around so much, but it was his 3rd pro fight, on a big stage, against a very active guy with quicker hands and not too shabby defense, so i'll give him a pass. there's still a great deal we don't know about him, and russell too.

 

he's fine with the people he has, it's only been his 3rd fight as a pro, and he will only continue to get better

history shows that EE fighters don't bode well with American trainers, Povetkin-Atlas or Adamek-Bloodworth are most recent examples

I think that has alot to do with many eastern european fighters turn pro often pretty late and/ has had long amateur career with massive amount of amateur fights so it obviously is just hard for "old dog learn new tricks". You know what I mean.:think

also, EE are taught a different style than most American trainers teach (like say a lot of EE lack decent head movement) and it's difficult for them, as you've stated, to adapt, changing one's style by force may only hurt his game rather than improve it

 

He's fine going forward with his father, they're a good team. He's going to improve over the next 10 fights, but hopefully Arum doesn't throw him in with Donaire or Walters or even Gradovich just yet.

Lomochenko needs to get some easier fights for now. Defend his title against guys like Selby/Sonsona or any of the other dozen ranked WBO FWs. He could defend against Piriyapino back in Ukraine.
