WTF is going on with this Brook vs Porter title fight?Showtime announced 3 fights at the Barclays Center for the Aug.9th broadcast. They said it was going to be a tripleheader with Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson and Danny Jacobs in seperate title fights-but NO mention of Brook vs Porter.
Has Kell been "injured" again-what say you Fast Car?:huh

It's hardly a surprise if this is true...you could see Hearn wasn't sure of himself in interviews about the fight even though the IBF announced it was on..GBP haven't said a word.
If this is true this is a major embarrassment for all involved.

If this is true you'd still get people knocking Eddie/kell for this

If Porter vacates then Dan Ion is next in line with Number 3 and 5 in the IBF rankings already signed to a fight (Gavin and Bundu) , Bradley is 4th so If Brook has to fight for a vacant title then it should be Dan Ion but I wouldn't be surprised if he was given some money by Bob to step aside and let Bradley pick up a welterweight title and get himself back in the frame.

They have agreed a deal but the contracts are not signed yet. Must be something holding it up.

I won't blame Eddie/Kell if Porter has fcuked them off for a Mayweather fight - or some other major political issue which is way out of their control...anything other then that then it's open season IMO.

At least a fight with Ion will be positively charged.

If Brook wins the title (in 2020 at this rate) then a December showdown with Khan looks nailed on, especially if combined with Bellew/Cleverly II.

This fight clearly isn't happening, hasn't felt right from the start.

Kell has signed the contract. If this doesn't happen it's purely down to Porter.

Agree, but couldn't porter get out of vacating as a mayweather fight (assuming it's at welter) is a unification?

Yes, with Porters political connections plus the sanctioning fees involved with a Mayweather unification fight I have a hard time thinking that the IBF will strip him and would happily jump on board to join the party IMO.

Everybody goes on about how the IBF stick to he rules with mandatories all the time and don't have multiple belts in the same division etc. The belt thing maybe correct and honourable but they have pulled some serious BS over recent years like allowing PEDErson to remain champion after the drug scandals and also allowing the Mattyesse fight to be at 141lb so that Lamont was still 'champion' after being KO'd in 3 etc.
