He would definitely benefit from some tutelage from Roach and Garcia and a co-coach would also be good. But Garcia and Roach are better with offensive fighters and they don’t mesh as well with boxer punchers like Loma.

Has Garcia taught anyone how to be a good offensive boxer? Pretty sure Rios, Margarito, Maidana all have the same things in common, heart, chin and power. Those 3 things aren't taught.

Mikey Garcia was trained by his dad.

No hate on Garcia, but in terms of teaching someone offensive boxing, I just havent seen it in his fighters, they all look very unskilled brawlers who have talent for brawling.

Loma had one defeat in the amateurs, while winning 396 bouts. Read that again.

His father is doing a great job with him. However, it probably wouldn't hurt to have another set of eyeballs in his camp. Maybe get 2 or 3 top trainers evaluating his training, giving input. Not at once, of course, but over time. See what some of these other top trainers have to say.

Even though he had an extensive amateur career, the professional game is different. I think he will continue to improve, whether it his father or someone else.
