Cotto-Martinez bombs on PPV

No seriously , boxing needs some big fights that don't end up on ppv get the sport to the masses it will help the sport in the long run

 

What saved them and gave Top Rank and DiBella a small profit was the huge LIVE gate at the Gardens that night.It has been released that 4.7 million dollars was generated:good to see it live.
UFC is way down as well,but then again,you can only sell garbage for so long before even those fan boys wise up.

 

The problem is with the people involved in the sport, not the sport itself.

 

I hate to admit, but I bought the fight. Feel Martinez robbed me lol. O well Lee fight was good.

 

This fight was scheduled to be a mismatch for Martinez so many people do no buy it. Cotto was comming of a win but not a convincing one. NBA and hockey finals . I expect that Cotto popularity grew again in His next fight and manage to get better number, expeciallly in PR that sells a good amount of ppv because the people love boxing over there. Still don' know if PR PPV numbers are included there.

Cotto-Bradley is a very good fight actually. If it can take place somewhere around 150-152.

Cotto was a small JMW, extremely small MW.

Cotto-Canelo cinco de mayo next year will do big numbers. Floyd always fights on that date though so we'll have to see if Oscar agrees to it.

 

It is a good fight at the JMW limit. A proposed Cotto/Bradley fight would take place 154 and under. Anyone who assumes it would be for the lineal middleweight title are morons.

 

I don't think this made any money. I think cotto made 7 mil for this, I don't see how those lousy ppv numbers and a good gate equals profit.

I don't follow UFC, but has it been taking a hit lately aswell?
