Number seven is wrong, they use 10 OZ gloves and made a fist just fine, if not there will be a lot of broken hands, that was an excuse lomachenko used just to say he wasn't a professional, the other one that I don't agree with it is #3, they fight fellow "amateurs" that are getting pay too, actaully he was fighting better competition in the wsb that russell in the pro...
PS. They just found a loop and my fellow fans are going with it along with a few media ppl.

I think he is pretty high on the autistic-aspergers spectrum.

No, I just have a good grasp of the English language.

I suggest you try learning what the word amateur means sometime.

    Learning is fun.

Imagine how hilarious I find people who dont know what simple words like "amateur" and "professional" mean?

I was always told not to laugh at the un-educated, its not their fault.

Maybe English isnt your first language, Dublin people speak a harsh form of "English", more of a patois really.

The way you can't see past a dictionary meaning of a word and how things really are show you defenitely have autism or something and live a very sheltered life as you seem to have very little life experince

Yes, I should take the AIBA's arbitrary use of the term instead.

Lets call people who are in no way amateur, amateur because..well...that helps us stay an "amateur" organisation.

    Yup, sounds legit.

If the AIBA called dog ****, steak, would you eat it?

Mate your making a fool of yourself

Get your parents or your minder to bring you out of the house, they might bring you to an all you can eat buffet but there might be a lot of terms and conditions that doesn't make it like it all you can eat

Everything isn't what it seems , just because it's called amatuer boxing doesn't mean the guy fighting in the ring has to be a guy that's just finished painting the arena.

I know these are very hard concepts for you to understand given your condition but going out an experiencing the world will help

Fine, I give up, boxers who box as a profession aren't professionals boxers.

They're amateur, just paid and do it for a living.

If you want to believe those sentences. more power to you.

Dont let the fact that they make no logical sense throw you.

    Im out

Plenty of common words have a general definition and then a context-specific definition within a given industry or field.

In this case, being amateur or professional has a definition within the world of sport that is slightly more complex than how they are defined in the broader sense. Then, another layer below that, you have an even more specified definition within the individual sport of boxing.

Amateurs in any sport receiving a stipend for expenses (or a full athletic scholarship in a major NCAA team sport, or a flat-fee as part of a national Olympic or WSB team in boxing) differs wildly from actual professional athletes being paid whatever the money-men in those sports feel like paying them (restricted in most pro team sport leagues in the form of a salary cap, but for the most part left up to owner's discretion and often with loopholes allowing caps to be exceeded with a luxury tax payment etc) - which, in the case of boxing promoters, is unregulated and unlimited. Pro boxers can bargain for increased pay, or earn it through in-ring exploits. Amateurs receiving a fixed stipend can do neither. On the flip side, an incompetent boxer will find his earning potential diminishes over time as he is reduced to an opponent commanding very small purses. Again, not so with a member of a national amateur team receiving the same fixed amount for the duration of their membership.

The matter is a nuanced one and you are forcing black-and-white logic on it, semantics really, like someone jamming a square peg through a round hole and thinking everybody is arguing with them over whether or not the peg is square. You just don't get it.

Sorry, I just think someone who boxes as a profession, is a professional boxer...
