This is what happens when Al Haymon becomes a major player in the sport. He's destroying Showtime boxing. Last weekend they spent almost $3 million dollars on the card and it generated an average 533k viewers. Guerrero recieved $1million for what they thought would be a showcase fight, to which Haymon picked up between 15-20%. Devon Alexander's fight put me to sleep and he recieved $450k, more than an action fighter like Kovalev recieves from HBO for nearly double the viewers.

Showtime's money and tv dates are going to poor quality fights rather than investing in meaningfull fights. Haymon did it at HBO with guys like Berto, now Danny Garcia, Peter Quillin, and the rest of his fighters milk low ranked fighters for hundreds of thousands.

Salka has had a couple of good matches he should have won over Ricardo Alvarez, and did a good job on outpointing and knocking down Alexei Collado, but he is barely worthy of an undercard fight on Showtime and I thought him getting on Showtime Extreme and SHObox was a bit much,. Maybe those matches could have earned him a shot at Lundy or Redkach or Demarco but the LWW champion of the world, Danny must really be doubting himself.

Herrera is taking a better fight with Perez at least he is coming off a points win on Kamegai.

@Eastcoast, Guerrero's fight was a cherry-pick gone wrong and he stay's struggling with below C level fighters or gate keepers.

My prediction of Humberto Soto or Antonio DeMarco as Garcia's next opponent looks like quite the wishful thinking after seeing... Rod Salka.

Honestly, since Haymon came into the game, the cherrypicking has gotten blatant.

    And people praise that guy.

Who the hell is in charge of boxing at Showtime-Esoinosa or Haymon? This is a disgrace and showtime is going down the shitterwith these ridiculos mismatches.
I live 15 minutes away from Barclays via the subway and I wouldn't walk across the street to watch this mess.
Disgusting and Showtime owes all an explaination how they consider this a quality card. They really are scraping the bottom of the barrell and they must be going broke. They have wasted their budget doing biz with Mayweather and Haymon.:dead
