How do you rate Pacquiao's wins over Morales?

How high do you rate these wins? Wins over an prime ATG or catching a shot-atg on the downturn of his career?

I think there are two arguments here:

    1. Morales was severely weight drained. came in 7 lbs lighter than his previous fight night weight. The fact that he lost his tune up to a no name in a rather embarrassing fashion gives evidence to the idea that he was declining. Also lost to a non-elite boxer in Diaz immediately after providing further evidence he was past it.

    2. He had just beaten Pacquiao and pushed Barerra in a close fight at 130 lbs. He was fighting in the class he had been for the last few years. Wasn't really drained. Morales often didn't take his lesser opponents seriously and that's what he did against Raheem. He didn't condition himself well for the fight and that loss should be considered an outlier more than anything else. He would have prepared adequately for Pacquiao in the rematches just as he would have for the Barrera and 1st Pacquiao fights. His loss to Diaz is generally regarded as a robbery. Most believe he beat Diaz. Factoring that in he was undefeated after the third Pacquiao fight for another five whole years. And even then his loss to Maidana was a close one. He wasn't shot.

Great wins. Not career-defining wins like his wins over Barrera, Oscar and Cotto. But still that 2nd fight was a pretty damn good win. Rate him alongside Bradley II and JMM II.

They're definitely rated extremely highly. Back then, no one came close to doing what Pacquiao did to Morales.

There's the argument that Morales lost his tune up fight Raheem and was draining to make 130.

The second fight is one of Pacquiao's best wins while the third fight was just, I don't know, unnecessary. I don't rate the third fight nearly as great of a victory.

Not really an argument. It's the truth.

The second win was good....but Morales was shot in the third fight so Pac doesn't get much credit there.

Meh...got massively overrated by the new wave of Pac fans in 08/09 just because they recognized the name. Not really a great win in retrospect. A good solid win, but far less significant than the Barerra win.

Morales was well past prime in the second fight, completely shot in the third.
Roach before the first Morales fight (where Morales won) 'Morales has nothing left'.
It turns out that Morales was ahead half way into the second fight, but after round 6 he completely lost his legs. Morales felt very weak on the scales too because he became very fat, with Larry Merchant describing him as a big pigeon.

Look at what a seriously past prime Morales did to Maidana. Then put into context, what that same Maidana did to Mayweather. How can one not acknowledge Morales vs Pac?

That wasn't in his prime. It was stupid for Morales to fight Pacquiao again in the first place. He should have tried to avenge the loss against Raheem first.
