No, he said if you got past the first 5 rounds , you're chances of winning greatly improved. Whats that based on. For that statement to hold any truth , somebody had of of beat Tyson after taking a 5 round beating. Who was he?
O.k so what you're saying is Tyson wasn't more likely to score a K.O in the first five rounds than the last seven? Which means if you survived the first five or six rounds you had a better chance? no?
You are saying that , not me. Why did a guy have a greater chance to win if he got past the first 5 rounds? Who almost beat Tyson by making it the distance? Can you answer what you claimed or not?
I'm not saying anybody in particular almost beat him just because they got past the first five rounds, I'm just pointing out that because he was so dangerous in the first half of a fight, IF you managed to get to round six or seven you had a greater chance of winning, I DID'NT say you WOULD win just because you made it that far.
Based on what? Lewis never knocked anybody out passed 8 rounds. Was he more likely to lose by going the distance? What do you base this assumption on??
The guy who you are trying to defend went offline because he could not answer. I suggest you do the same.
The irony is that, the greatest display of Tysons power late in the fight was against Douglas, who he knocked down in the 10th round with an uppercut and i think Ribalta went down in the 10th too. So Tyson does carry his power late and i think he dropped Ruddock in the 10-12th round as well. The only guys who Tyson didnt KO after 8 rounds were Lewis, Holyfield, Douglas, Mcbride, Tillis, Green, Smith and Tucker and Ruddock 2, not really much of a long list to be honest. So out of the guys who went past 8 rounds.....only 4 of them beat Tyson, out of something like 60 fights
I think its going to be difficult to find a plan B against the likes of Holyfield and Lewis.....especially when you're past your best. Have you watched the Botha and Mathis fights? Theres your plan B. And his plan B nearly worked against Buster Douglas too.
This.......you had a transitional period in which a weak titlist Holmes was being given hell, and LOSING to a 15-0 novice in Witherspoon, then losing to a 175 titlist TWICE..... The division had journeyman and fringe contenders chasing the title, and even clubbies like Mitch Green was considered a legit challenge for the title. Here comes this young "RAGING BULL" who is softspoken and humble and the entire world fell in love with him. He was a legit ATG HW by the age of 21, and the whole world was ahead of him. Sadly, when Cus died, and DK got his hand into him and showed him the glamour life, Mike basically said F it......he let it go to his head, and the humble quiet guy everyone loved suddenly became a villain.....and he wasnt just playing the part. He was partying, doing coke, screwing whores, and slacking in training. Going into the Douglas fight, he was back and forth with his divorce atty 3-4 times a day during camp, and wasnt sleeping and got himself sick. 101 fever the morning of the fight. It reached it's climax when the ***** beauty contestant teased him and cried ****......I'LL NEVER BELIEVE IT WAS ****. He came out of jail still the feared man, but sedated, ashamed, and still in self destruct mode. Who knows what could have been:---(
He was well schooled but relied on a corner man to give him some stability. Say for instance Mayweather who in all honesty does not need his cornerman to give him a plan b or strategic advice. I felt Tyson whilst being a heavily skilled heavyweight needed structure around him in the ring and he couldn't perform at his best when it fell apart. :conf
