Juan Marquez vs Naseem Hamed. How would this fight have gone?

Had Naseem not retired this fight could have materialised down the road. How do you think this matchup would have unfolded? I have Marquez knocking Hamed out around the 10th round.

 

Similar to Barrera-Hamed, tho Jmm might of gotten dropped along the way.

 

Similar in that Hamed receives a hard lesson about fundamentals, but it wouldn't have been as rough, dirty, or personal as Barrera so famously and entertainingly made it.

If Naz fought JMM the same night he fought MAB then it's a win for JMM cos by that point in his career Naz had lost all focus and he was de-railing. But, at his best, Naz thumps JMM hard several times (as many fighters have done) and possibly stops him late. Naz would also take plenty along the way though in what would have been a hell of a scrap!!!

 

If your taking the best hamed at featherweight then let's add in that his hands are in top condition he probably still loses but he drops Marquez quite a few times

 

Hamed at his best knocks JMM the **** out.

JMM as great as he is, gets hit too much and dropped too much, Hamed was a monster puncher.

JMM could win if he puts on a superbly disciplined performance, but even in his best fights JMM gets hit/dropped alot.

JMM is NOT MAB, Hamed by KO.

 

Hamed has a chance for a KO, but I doubt it, JMM is a terrible matchup for Hamed.

 

A guy who gets hit alot and dropped alot is a bad matchup for a huge puncher?

 

I did say there's a chance of Hamed KO.

JMM is the hardest for Hamed to face out of the Mexican trio.

EDIT: Don't get it mixed up, I'm supporting Hamed more than anyone would. My favourite fighter of all time.

 

Stylewise, true to a certain extent, but sometimes i feel people underrate MAB's performance.

MAB respected Hameds power, he fought an amazing and very disciplined fight, with a very high, tight guard. There was no room for error, it was a picture perfect performance for MAB and probably his finest (ask MAB)

Stylistically JMM is the biggest nightmare, Morales was probably the easier fight because he would have played into Hameds hands

I just dont think Marquez can pull it off, he gets hit too much.

Pacman dropped him 3 times in the first round, i think Hamed hit way harder than Pacqauo (but thats another story for another day).

If/when Hamed hit people, they want straight to sleep. What Pacqiauo did to Hatton, Hamed did much more regularly.

 

The way Barrera fight went for hamed but this time only worse

 

Hamed had no power on fight night, he was completely defeated by the scales, trying to make weight.
Marquez keeps getting up as though it's nothing though but yeah Hamed is the hardest puncher Manny Steward ever trained, according to Manny Steward himself.

Some can just stand up to Hamed's shots though, he threw everything and the kitchen sink at Wayne McCullough and a couple of others.

Besides, Marquez would land more knockdowns than Hamed would because of timing, positioning which works well against Hamed's terrible balance.

 

Not sure about Hamed having terrible balance. He used to throw shots from crazy angles which would be hard to do if he had "terrible balance".

He actually got caught square a few times but I think thats because he changed stance from orthodox to southpaw.
