Wilder has a better shot at catching Stiverne early in a fight than he would fighting Jennings/Perez winner for the vacant title.

Perez got IRON chin, great defense and is an excellent CPer....Jennings has the Philly shell and isnt stationary long, and he fires the UC as a counter.

Stiverne covers often and is slow to start. Wilder can catch him covering up and being immobile.

As for why it isnt signed yet.....

I think Don King wants to get Stiverne a voluntary in Miami before making the Wilder fight. Might throw DW 100K to step aside from the September date so Stiverne can fight Adamek in Miami.

Two times a year would be a big improvement for a lot of boxers.

Whenever they fight, the winner has to fight the Jennings/Perez winner afterwards.

The Wlad Pulev fight has to take place by Sept 30th.

Wladimir was attempting to negotiate with team Stiverne, that's what delayed the Wilder talks I guess. Obviously, as expected, team Stiverne(Don King primarily) pulled out of the talks with Wladimir. Expect an announcement regarding Stiverne's next fight soon.

They are trying to delay it the loooooonger possible. Ideally they would fight between two or three years.

    What a joke.

Wilder's team knows too well that the first serious punch Stiverne lands, Wilder will fail a 50 seconds count. So they're tryin to fix the fight. But King is under Stiverne, so it won't be easy.
This fight will be a total farce, whenever it will happen.

And they don't even want it to happen. They'd prefer to defend the belt against bums till forever, runnin' away from any unification fight.

Belt organizations don't want no unification bout.

Exactly. Which is why this fight will probably not happen. Wilder's team would prefer to face more stiffs, build up this myth that he is a "big puncher," and therefore a threat to Wlad, and then cash out in a money fight against Klitschko, in which he will predictably be KOd early.

This type of thing has been done time and time again in boxing (see Michael Grant for the most recent example) - the only difference here is that Wilder's "opposition" has been even MORE pathetic for LONGER than those who did this before him.

The only way a Stiverne fight happens is if they can't make a deal with Wlad for the big bucks.

Is it because Bermane is worried about being knocked out by Deontay and losing his paper title?

Don King says they might fight someone else first. There seems to be a lot of delays and indecision in the negotiations about this fight, they've made no progress in the past month.

Stiverne beats the **** out of Wilder, maybe they are looking for a real contender like Povetkin in stead of this fraud.

Don King has burned his bridges with Povetkin's promoter, who is suing him.

They are looking for a softer, less dangerous opponent. Perhaps age 45 Antonio Tarver fits the bill?

It would be better than the Wilder mismatch.
