To soon for Lodi, after the hard fight with Seferi. But if he is in shape, he should stop the old Mormeck.
Round 1 Djelkhir is staying atop Nagy, peeking over a mid-level guard hovering at his chin and lobbing in hooks, working the body as his momentum carries him in close. Nagy circles away, countering with the odd right hand over the gloves but not slowing Djelkhir. One-gear but steady round. 10-9 Djelkhir
Round 2 Djelkhir is bashing into Nagy's forearms with 1-2s, then covering up as Nagy reciprocates on the backfoot. Nagy is turning off the ropes and leading with some high right hands but Djelkhir keeps moving in, ignoring the right hands bouncing off his eye socket, hitting the body especially crisply with his left hook. 10-9 Djelkhir 20-18 Djelkhir
Round 3 Combinations at point blank as Nagy's legs slow and Djelkhir stays with him. Spirited counterattacks and some lead rights by Nagy. Djelkhir is starting to hurt Nagy with straight rights downstairs. Nagy circles away, tossing straight flurries at the head and waistband. Djelkhir is putting together double and triple hooks first climbing and then descending the length of Nagy. HARD left hook downstairs after setting up with a lighter one up by Nagy's throat, and Nagy goes down wincing to his knees and stays there. TKO3!
Djelkhir improves to 16-0 (12) This was only Nagy's fifth stoppage loss in 42 career outings. Fairly impressive showing & result, especially factoring in that Djelkhir was last rated at super bantam while notoriously tough journeyman Nagy last competed at lightweight. He looks an okay prospect, but is very short and 30 years old so his ceiling may not be all that high.
Round 1 Bombs away; they are brawling!! Sainte digs to the body diving in behind a left jab and swat-hook. Lunging full-extension jab by Sainte taking a long step inside, balance a bit too widely dispersed. Bertonnier cuffs with a heavy right hand, repeatedly. Sainte is made to slouch over involuntarily from the force of the chopping rights, some legal and some venturing into rabbit punch territory. Sainte is rocked by a left hook while doubled over! Bertonnier pushes him onto the ropes! Sainte is slugging his way free with left hooks. Bertonnier pummels with both hands! Sainte backs into the ropes, and the ref waves it off! TKO1!!
Huge upset there. Bertonnier with his innocuous looking 5 knockouts - and eleven defeats - in 31 outings heading in was clearly brought here to lose, but he didn't get the memo. Hell, it took world class Maksim Bursak thrice as long to get rid of Brigadier.
Julien was incredulous and indignantly astonished, the way only the French can be. :yep To be fair, though, his output was slowing and Bertonnier was lighting him up on the ropes on a pretty regular basis at that point.
