    It's about damn time.

Maybe now he can convince a judge he can't pay that huge amount of alimony anymore being out of a job ;)

We will all miss you Evan Fields

Maybe any time up through around 2008 he could've skated into a title shot on name value alone (like he did, twice in a row with Ibragimov and Valuev) - but after that, no. It would have been unjustifiable. He was almost stopped by freaking Tank Williams. Holy pushing 50 was no Hop pushing 50.

Haha you're right. The sad thing is, as old as he is, I bet he'd do as good as the rest.

No one woulda believed Evan Fields had that much left in the tank after the Toney MASSACRE.

Vitali said after that fight that he would NEVER fight Holyfield...because he was his idol. Sounded to me, the context anyways....Im not going to murder the man.:think

    We all have our fantasies:D

Holy from 93-96 woulda been a tough out for any HW ATG in the top 20.......he spent a lot of energy AND BRAIN CELLS absorbing shots.:-(

So presumably his retirement will be considered backdated three years so that he can be HOF eligible in 2017.

If they go by this new literal retirement date, he wouldn't be in until 2020.
