your reasoning behind the ppv numbers and floyds stand regarding them, is faulty. i do agree that its just an excuse, though.

Floyd is a joke when it comes to him fighting manny, full of excuses as he knows manny would KO him and make him look a fool after all the talking he has done. Manny will be remembered as the best of this era as shown by his fighter of the decade award which was when they were in their primes.

Name which ones you feel are cherry picks and which aren't. My opinion is highlighted in bold and I'll break down why. Feel free to agree, disagree, and most importantly, debate! Keep it friendly, guys.

    Cherry pick
    Debatable
    Legitimate

    Floyd Mayweather
Oscar De La Hoya Age 33 154 lbs
Ricky Hatton Age 29 147 lbs

Juan Manuel Marquez Age 35 147 lbs
Shane Mosley Age 38 147 lbs
Victor Ortiz Age 24 147 lbs
Miguel Cotto Age 31 154 lbs
Robert Guerrero Age 30 147 lbs
Saul Alvaerz Age 23 152 lbs
Marcos Maidana Age 30 147 lbs

    Manny Pacquiao
Jorge Solis Age 27 130 lbs
Marco Antonion Barrera Age 33 130 lbs
Juan Manuel Marquez Age 34 130 lbs
David Diaz Age 32 135 lbs

Oscar De La Hoya Age 34 147 lbs
Ricky Hatton Age 30 140 lbs
Miguel Cotto Age 29 145 lbs
Joshua Clottey Age 32 147 lbs
Antonion Margarito Age 32 150 lbs
Shane Mosley Age 39 147 lbs
Timothy Bradley Age 28 147 lbs
Juan Manuel Marquez Age 39 144 lbs
Brandon Rios Age 27 147 lbs
Timothy Bradley Age 30 147 lbs

    Mayweather vs Marquez
    Cherry pick: The weight issue.

    Mayweather vs Guerrero
Cherry pick: I feel like he was tune-up fight.

    Pacquiao vs De La Hoya
    Cherry pick: The weight issue.

    Pacquiao vs Margarito
Cherry pick: The ban, the weight, the time off.

    Pacquiao vs Mosley
Cherry pick: Old, he had done nothing of note recently before Pacquiao, clearly declined.

    Pacquiao vs Rios
Cherry pick: Clear tune up, confidence builder.

both are cherrypickers, because apparently being a PPV star means you get to pick who you fight and make any other demands in your favour

Add Clottey and Hatton to Pac's list.

Take Guerrero off of Floyd's. That was actually seen as a good fight at the time. People were saying he was ducking the Ghost when reports surfaced he was going to fight Alexander instead. Also, people actually picked Guerrero to win. Including Roberto Duran.

Both he and Floyd have done their share of cherrypiicks though.

Mosley was a legitimate fight for Floyd but the same Mosley fought Pacquiao only one year later and he was a cherrypick?

The ***** logic never fails :rofl

mosley was coming off a win against a guy everyone thought was a beast .....its not ***** logic...its simple logic.....at that time pac wanted no part of shane....they outright declined him when he came to meet freddie face to face.....and instead opted for the guy who had been beaten by bricks and barely got by clottey......and then pac fought him after he drew with mora.....its just logic....not ***** logic.....if we wanted to call hatton a cherrypick for pac we could make an argument for that too...since floyd ko'd him...juan lazcano put him on ***** st and then he beat feather fist paulie....but ill let that one slide

its hurts your pride to see that, in reality, your hero has more cherrypicks than TBE

To be fair and honest, Roach said that Mosley was "too good a fighter" for Manny after he beat up Margo. And demanded a 142 Pound CW.

"Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter."

    http://articles.latimes.com/2010/feb/02/sports/la-sp-dwyre-pacquiao2-2010feb02

Then Floyd beats him, and makes him look old. And then Roach wants the fight.
